Just unburned fuel making it's way into the exhaust. Other than that, it's only harmful to catalytic converters and small wildlife creatures that live in your exhaust.

I'm a bit ignorant on 2-steps... Doesn't the unburned fuel than can be pushed ignite in the turbo exhaust housing, causing SOME wear? I always thought that 2-steps were a good tool but hard on turbos after a while..

Yeah, in the long run a 2step is harder on the turbos but since you only use it for a few seconds at a time and hopefully not that often it should be fine. Basically the controller cuts spark to the motor which just pumps the unburned gas into the exhaust then shoots a late spark which ignites the raw fuel in the exhaust which causes a fireball that instantly spools the turbo for power off the line.

Yep, it's harder on the turbo. Basically you have combustion in the hot side between the turbo and the head. It will wear on it over time, but you're also not using the two step for more than a few seconds at a shot. So long as you don't get addicted to the pop-pop-pop sound you'll be fine for a while.

Damn, I was just thinking the exhaust housing, but of course, everything on the hot side is "hot."

They're worse than I thought although they're a MUST for serious drag racing with big power.
