Default turbo to big for the 4.3L?

hey guys im picking up a Garret turbo off of a 7.3L ford this saturday for $50- no shaft play, impeller spins like its new.

my only problems are that it is internally gated and im afraid its to big. since its a garret though they should sell a smaller housing and that is externally wastegated correct?

If its off a 7.3 then don't even bother. We rebuild those junky units all the time. Waste of money.

I have a t76 q trim on my 4.3 thats in the truck now (see sig). it spools a little slow even with the 3500 stall and thats a built motor with very good flowing heads. I bought the turbo though with future plans in mind. If your seriously looking at turboing your 4.3 go to www.syty.net since all syclones / typhoons were 4.3 turbo from the factory.
