A local friend made my 8 rib YSi Vortech setup.

You should plan to run a strut brace. 20-30 psi is no joke.

Why the problem with Cogs on an LS1? Never heard of any problems on a standard sbc...atleast I haven't had any problems with my F2

Wont the YSi fit on the RMCR bracket they make?

John do you have a pic of that brace alone, I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say brace, i'm imagine its connecting to the blower but what's it boltin up to , the block somehow?

Brace bolts to crank and blower pulleys, using pilot bushings (?).

PSJ...

DO you have any more info about running a YSI on a Vortech LS1 Setup. Can a YSI fit under the hood properly. My friend has the RMCR bracket and was planning on installing a T-Trim, but he's also got a YSI sitting there and wondered if it would fit under the hood of a Camaro SS..
Thanks.

CLint

hugger orange, my friend dave has the rmcr bracket and he runs the t trim. the ysi will fit on the bracket too. You will have to clearance the hood for it.

i might buy his t trim or jump up to the ysi in like a year with a front mount, should be fun!

yes..the YSI will fit under the hood of an LS1 (not sure about the SS). The bracket will support the YSI. If it is version #1 of the bracket a little bit needs to be cut from the bracket to work..but if its version #2 then no modification is needed. A T-Trim will fit the bracket no problem as that is what is was originally was designed for... Your friend might be able to send the bracket back to RMCR to have them cut for the YSI or he can pay an upgrade cost to version#2. Not sure of the upgrade cost...but I know he has version #2 brackets in shop

version #2 bracket is a lot nicer...still beefy but weights a lot less.

If TQ and boost are what your wanting the Kenne Bell or the WHipple will support your needs, roots blowers develope more TQ than the centrificual and i have seen a COG set up on a 4.6 Terminator....and last they will go 20psi i would think this would be the best application for you. The square peg shoving into a round hole sounds too tuff.

I think the YSi is bigger, but you could check with Vortech and see.

I wouldn't. A T-Trim will even surpass the stock aftercooler IMO.
