Default The GMR verdict is in...

Did 5 pulls today with Clint and Young. The first pull was pretty comical. Not sure exactly what was going on with the run, but I couldn't get the car to go over 5500RPM. Ended up with 400RWHP / 360 RWTQ. So I actually lost 20 Torque from the T76. haha. I think the HP seemed accurate, but no clue what happened with the torque. It felt like my wheels were spinning on the dyno.

Anyhow, we ran it another 4 times in 5th gear. And with a little tuning work from Clint, I ended up with 432.5 RWHP / 475.6 RWTQ. This is still on the stock fuel pump and only 5 pounds of boost.

I'll get the dyno graphs up later.

The 2nd pull before we started with any tuning:

So Clint was able to milk out another 7 horses, and over 60 RWTQ. Thanks Clint! I could definitely feel a difference in the ride home.

I'm satisfied as I wanted to get a baseline before the boost controller arrives. Then I'll switch out to a dual walbro setup and retune again.

The Dyno had issues all day.. I don't know if I would fully trust these number just yet. I love this dyno shop, been going there for years. However there were a few issues like the Wide Band A/F meter was not working. Rollers screwed up showing a Dip around 135mph on 3 different cars.

Glad your car was running better on the way home Scott. With your timing set lower, and your lower compression, I'm not disappointed in your numbers. Your A/F was all over the place on your 1st run. I guess that 6.0L truck maf kinda messed up the tune slightly.. I like the TQ.

At this boost level, that T76 needed more load on the turbo to spin that puppy up sooner, though it does not make since his RWTQ numbers went up 20 to 30RWTQ with pulling in 5th VS 4th. RWHP suffered with pulling in 5th.. Mav, don’t up that boost till you get your pumps squared away. Even though your A/F is nice and fat right now, you need the pumps in there soon.. The fact you didn't have the Fuel pressure hooked up yet kinda scared me. Glad the stock pump is keeping up, for now.

Talk to you later Scott.. Keep me informed.

Sounds like dynojet issues. Try another shop, I'd disregard these numbers if three different cars were having the same issue on the rollers.

The last two pulls I did were within 1 HP and no difference in the TQ, so I think it's getting close. I'm so much concerned about the numbers as I am the tuning right now.

Not to mention the fact you can hear the car's hesatate (like it's under some kind of load) on the rollers at 135mph.

Definitely a problem with the dyno. You can see the same dip on this chart at 135-145 that we saw on Young and Shawns cars:

Timing / Fuel were exactly perfect there. No KR to dip or add in timing, no dip or add in fuel.

At the boost you were running even 420rwhp is not that bad.Still like near 500 engine hp.

Well it all sounds good, but these are SAE corrected numbers for Denver. That equates to 348RWHP / 379 RWTQ uncorrected.

Turbo systems with equal turbos will put out equal numbers. Its not rocket science.Assuming decent tuning. Unless you have boost leak or exhaust to turbo bolts and gaskets not tight or wastegates are not right spring, etc.

As many said likely that dyno was having some problems and pretty sure you are supposed to dyno in 4th not overdrive gears.

And remember the track is better test with mph than dynos sometimes.
