it creates a venturi with hi velocity exhaust gas moving past it, works like a siphon tube if your stealing gas . normally racecar stuff because it will make oil smoke. It can pull too much as well, alot depends on the placement

Oil consumption on something that gets driven alot would probably be a concern as well

Why would this have any more oil consumption than pulling a similar amount of vacuum through the intake? The physics of it are clearly worked out, but I "woke up" the thread to get some follow up on how well it is actually working. There are different opinions about whether or not it will work well on a street car with mufflers. Those are the folks I hope to hear from.

because the oil goes right out the tailpipe, the volume of which Im not sure, but thats why Pan-E-Vac systems as moroso calls it is normally a drag race only thing

On astreet car with ANY kind of backpressure, it will not work.

there are supra guys with full exhaust using this set up with sucess. all exhaust has some back presure.

since i am pulling from the baffeled vent on the valve cover i dont think it will pull much if any oil out of the motor. i use about 1 quart every 2000miles, that might seem like a lot but i am out there beating the hell out of a 1000rwhp motor. it is going to use a little oil isn't it?

just like i posted a few posts up. it works good at idle and cruse. there are no vapors or smells coming out from under my hood or the vent filter i have. under the truck there is some oil residue so it must be letting some vapor out at wot. the vacume line i have going to the exhaust vent is prety small and long. it might work at wot better with a larger line but i didn't want to tap into the valve cover in a place with no baffle. i might try spliting off a few smaller lines taped under the same baffle and y them into the larger line on the oneway valve.

Dumped into the exhaust stream off of the turbo it will quickly combust. Again, why should the volume be any different than that pulled through a PCV w/ identical vacuum?

So you say...but there are some cars that are working. What is your experience? And, your second statement totally contradicts your first. Either it WON'T pull any vacuum [your second statement] which means it will not dump ANY oil vapor into the exhaust stream [your first statement], or it WILL pull vacuum [contradicting your second statement] and oil vapor WILL go into the exhaust. I kindly suggest you examine your mutually exclusive statements.

Please, others with real experience chime in with updates!

I have this set-up on mine. I'm pulling off the pass vlv cover factory hole and going through a catch can. I get very little oil in the can but mostly water vapor/condensation from out of the crankcase. I was having a problem with spitting the dipstick out and puking oil under the hood so I put a vac/press manual gauge T'ed off it and i'm seeing approx 1" of vacume at cruise and 4.5psi positive pressure at wot and 6psi boost. I have T'ed off that and have a spring ball check valve which opens at approx .5 psi to relieve the pressure while under boost. I just ran the tube down to blow off on the ground. I don't know if this is going to be temporary or permanant but I dont know what else to do really.
I have a 3" downpipe and 3" exhaust all the way out the back. I have not tested it with the cutout open yet but i'm sure it is better.
