Default Sts What Stall?

Hey guys I have a Fuddle racing stall in my car right now and I think its way to much. I had a dyno sheet of my car with the stock converter and John at Fuddle said that he thought I needed a 4000 stall becasue of where my car was makin power. Now I have had this a year and I really dont like it. So I am going to have it restalled.

So what I want to know is what have you guys had luck with?

I am running about #13 now

My buddy runs 3.73 gears in his rear mount, with a 3500 stall, he loves it. Car has excellent streetability, and gas mileage isn't too awful bad. Comes up hard on boost when he puts the hammer down. Depends on if that 4000 stall you have is real loose or not. What kind of gear are you currently running?

I'm running a Vigilante in my SS and love it. It's the second one I have from them since the first one was too loose. Finding the right stall for a turbo car is tricky and has a lot to do with what the person will tolerate/like.

My first stall from vigilante was supposed to be "tight" and around "3000". Ended up being MUCH looser than what I thought and what they thought it would be. Car would foot brake to 2800, stall on the trans brake to 3500 at 0 psi, 4000 at 5 psi and 4500 at 7psi. Full boost in 3rd would flash the converter to 5500 which is too high in my oppinion. This was all on 12psi.

new converter is 2 steps tighter and much much nicer. Stall is tighter on the brake now with 5psi at 3500 and only flashes to about 5000 in 3rd at 15psi.

i am running the stock 3.23s and this 400 stall will let me brake stall it to almost 3000 and I never get into boost

little off topic but Buldogg, what trans are you running... and whats done to it? Any issues at all with that power your making? Thanks

I have the stock A4 with a shift kit and trans cooler. With a lot of tuning. It seems to be holding up fine.
