That's 'cause you're a stud muffin!

Just think how much you would have made with more exhaust? Bet you'll find out with your new cam!

Kp I bet you go over 700 with the new cam and driveability will not be affected one bit. The Thunder Blower cam if it is anyhting like the CheaTRcam is like the Z06 cam on steroids-without the acne.

Boost pressure will dictate the Cam duration/LSA.There is no 1 cam for all blower app's.

Incorrect.
Patrick, I was referring to the difference between the suggested "blower cam" vs your recommendation.
your recommendation:
212/230 .580/.592 112LSA +2
which IS along the same quidelines as I thought was correct...
suggested "blower cam":
214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA
which has the direction of the split in lift just the opposite of your suggested one...
Am I THAT confused?

What I'm saying is that more lift on the intake vs. exhaust is perfectly acceptable in a blower application. Thunder's blower cam will work better on a Vette or F-body than a 5.3L truck motor, hence my crazy specs. Slowhawk is right as usual, there's no 1 cam that's ideal for all blower applications. Prochargers like one thing where a Magnacharger may like something else. A 5.3L truck may like something different than a 408, yada yada.

Just FYI, the spec's on the CheatR and the Blower cams from Thunder look identical. However, I think they are actually different lobes that have quicker ramps as under .050" to further cut down on overlap.

I thought the GT2-3 would be more for a Radix type SC set-up though, one that has low-end power, unlike the ProCharger. However, after looking at the specs again...207/220 571/.578 w 1.7 rocker 118.5 CL...it is similar to the ATI's suggested splits in duration and lift. The LSA is significantly higher though.

Everyone, I am somewhat cam illiterate, so thank you for your patience and explanations...the real world experience that you share is much better than theories, for sure.

Also, do you guys feel the same about LS6 springs and hardened 7.4 pushrods being the only required upgrades...re-using the stock rockers?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again guys for all of your replies.
Yes, I get 400 to 500 e-mails a day, most of it is spam though.
Comp 918 springs and hardened 7.4 pushrods, along with the stock rockers are what I would suggest. Bob

Then there is no need to go with double springs, right?

go with double springs its good insurance. I've heard too many stories of guys breaking one spring and the one thing that saved the valve from smashing against the piston was the other spring.

its good insurance to have.

Patrick G.. You seem like the Cam expert... Just how Bad is the HOTCAM ?? Also I have Jessel 1.8 rockers which brings my total lift to .555

I did 621 RWHP w/11psi of boost P1SC blower, Stage 1 heads w/stock valves, hotcam 218/227 .525 .525 112LSA, 1.8 rockers, 9.1 to 1 compression, ported weiand intake, SLP LT headers no cats.

Now I have the D1SC w/15psi of boost, everything else the same. My seat of the pants feels close to 700 RWHP but how much more could I have with a bigger cam on this 15psi FI setup..

THX clint..

Although there are better cams for running NA, the Hot Cam is not that bad when running a blower. It's a little on the "dirty" side from an overlap at .006" standpoint. The duration at .050" does not tell the whole story. Faster ramps would make it better suited for the blower.

As much power as you're making, I'm not sure if you'd pick up enough power to make it worth the swap.

What about single pattern cams? I'm sure a single pattern cam would make great torque/hp for a boost application in the single digits-i.e. under 10psi. I'm actually thinking of trying out the "old" B1 Lunati cam 221/221 (283/283) .558/.558 114+4. If you don't want to buzz the motor forever and want to make gobs of power/torque under the curve I'm sure this would cam would a solid punch on the street/track-especially when a 6 speed is concerned. What do you guys think of this dirty " old school" cam?

Bob
what do you think of the thunder racing 214-230 601/575 117 LSA + 1 degree (116cl)
Blower cam.

I am very interested in this Blower cam, and i like the idea of the extra exhause duration and lift.

Help us out
thanks

The Thunder Racing cam should work pretty well.

I know the cam we have been using also works very well in many applications.

Dur @ .050 232 int 240 exh
Lift .595 int .608 exh
Lobe Sep 115.0

what is people's opinion on this cam?
220/224 112+4
I like the smaller duration but this was designed to be a n/a cam
