Default auto guys, do you get a different amount of boost per gear?

I'm able to run 15-16 in 2nd but am having trouble getting more boost in those gears. 3rd gear I've been able to get 17-18 no problem. Car seems to run best if I shift at 6k instead of 6.5k, at least from a roll that's how it seems. Maybe I just need some 28" tires. I really need to play around with it at the track to find out what shift points are going to work the best. Wish the track was open for street cars more than 3x a month, 1x a month with track prep.

Car feels it's best in 3rd gear even when I have the boost set at 15psi and it holds in all gears. Damn turbo cars love load.

I'd like to be able to achieve 20psi in 2nd and 3rd. Guess I'll see if it improves after I wrap my exhaust.

Hmmm, I can't say that I've seen this problem yet. I see the same 10-15lbs range in both 2nd and 3rd gear.

What's your air fuel look like when you're moving from 15 to 17-18lbs? Are you running out of fuels and just not able to support that level?

what rear gears do you have?

i know that turbos like to be loaded at all times and if it runs its best in 3rd then it sounds like you need taller tires or lower (numerically) gears.

I'm running a 2.75 gear which is perfect for my car, car loves this gear and so do I. When I shift into 3rd I can see 17 psi if I have the boost upped that high, It will go higher as well, but I'm not tuned for that yet. Seems like it will only go 15 in 1st and 2nd though.

a/f is 11.0 at 15ps. A/F was going to 12.0 at 17psi in 3rd so I was letting off.

I guess it's not that big of a deal, I'm pretty happy with how the car runs. When the weather cools off the car will gain another 80HP and spool faster.

That's ridiculous Zombie. With 2.75 gears and auto, i would imagine you would be seeing your full boost even in 2nd gear, but maybe you're putting down so much power that it's not correctly loading... Stick a 50 shot of spray in there for 2nd gear and call it done! *wink*

it might be hitting the tire too hard in 1&2 and spinning and losing the load on the turbo  its possible

I've thought about adding a small shot just for fun factor and spooling from a roll without brake boosting it, but I'm not that interested in making the car more complicated.

I don't think it's spinning in 2nd, it does spin a small amount on the 2-3 shift sometimes at 120. It's really shocking to me that with the 2.75's every gear feels faster. With the 3.50's every gear felt like another 50 hp and I still get the same effect with 2.75s.

I'm quite happy with the car no matter what though. I now own my dream car, a turbo Camaro SS.

An added bonus to the 2.75's is gas milage, with the 3.50's I was getting about 140-160 miles to a tank. Looks like I'm going to be getting closer to 200 per tank now and I've been beating the snot out of it.
