Maybe I'm missing something here, but it sounds like those fittings are for hard line tubing, not braided line.

You are correct. The fitting in the link are for Hard tubing not braided line. As for cutting the braided line, I used a grinder with a 4 inch cut of wheel. It works great.

I just finished mine... I used wd-40 and used a socket to spin them on worked great. the wd-40 makes them go right on. Make sure to tape the ends with masking tape but only wrap it like twice or it will be to thick. I used a saws all and it worked great. Just take your time.

Why tape them? I know theyre taped for shipping and so you dont cut yourself. Any other reason why? I took the tape off one of my ends and didnt have any problems.

Well it keeps the ends from fraying (sp) while you try to slide the hose ends over the braided hose etc... And it does help if you get the correct hose ends LOL! Just had to give you guys a hard time. There is a first time for everyone its a great learning experience.

Number 1 get the right fittings. 2nd spend the $36 to buy this cutter. No WD4000, no tape, cuts the lines like butter, doesn't flatten or fray the lines. This will make your build a looooot easier.

I have that cutter and it works great, but a super high speed cutter wheel & tape works almost as well

That cutter is just a cable cutter from Home Depo or Lowes...
