Are you just reving the engine or actually putting it under load? Just reving it up with no load, you're not gonna hear the turbos spinning up, but you should be able to feel air come out of the BOVs.

Well the layout of the setup and the specs on the exhaust and all other components (and driving condition) have influence on how pronounced turbo noise will be.

Was the 4000 rpm under load? You may allready know this but you could be at a sustained 7000rpm and the turbos will build no boost unless the engine is under a load.

Thats not really true, I could tap the gas at idle and hear the whistle from my Twin T70s and 60s

But I would guess that under load they will make a lot more noise, it also helps if you have full exhaust on the car instead of open DPs

I don't build boost, but I certainly hear the turbo make some sweet spool sounds out the exhaust when I rev while stopped.

you can hear mine at idle and you can really hear them going down the road. but, I have no muffs. muffs kill 95% of the turbine sound. some hear the compressor whine, but mine is all turbine.

You can actually hear the turbo spooled once you floor it... This is totally unlike some Supra dyno videos I've seen lately..... You can hear it spool at like 6000rpm

Very true... I run a Loudmouth, so that's almost like no mufflers... It's cool to hear them out the back and not have to floor your car.

my 3" pipes run through the frame of my vette and turn out through the rocker panels in front of the rear wheels like old school sidepipes. you can really hear mine especially on the freeway with a concrete barrier beside the car. it kinda sounds like a 747 passing by.

I know exactly what you're talking about when turbo whine comes out the exhaust and reflects off of walls... But you have sidepipes facing the walls? Holy S*** that must sound AWESOME.

I run one as well. It's nice to have the top down and hear the turbo whistle come over the deck of the trunk.

Now when the cutouts are open (pointed out to the sides), you can really hear the whistle!
