Default A/C delete questions

How much of the A/C system do you guys take off? Is there anything to be cautious of or watch after removing your a/c? Planning to take mine out with the upcoming TTi install.

I took my entire system off and installed a HVAC delete plate, gives a lot more room on both sides of the firewall.

So you pulled the evaporator core out too? Do you have a pic of your engine bay?

Not exactly on topic but why buy a TTi street kit if you're going to delete the A/C? You'd be much better off getting a kit from Turbo ZOne or one of the other sponcors using a truck manifold kit.

Keeping A/C is really the only reason to go with the TTi street kit, because most others are superior in the power per psi depo!!!

That's just my opinion.

FWIW removing a/c is pretty straight forward, just gotta know what to remove.

IMO, If I set myself to removing my AC, man, I'd be running a TTI RACE KIT with a HUGE TURBO.

Well, I would love to have a TTi race kit, but I don't have the 7400$ to buy one (I think eventually I will end up with that kit, or build my own real similar). Got a used TTi T76 street kit, and by the time I gather/make the parts I need to complete it should have about $3700 in it.

I will take a look at the turbozone stuff, but last time I looked it would still cost more for their intercooled setup than what I have now.

Reasons for removing a/c:
-never used it for 2 years I have had the car, car is not a daily driver
-save a little weight
-clean up engine bay and reduce clutter
-I want to put the i/c in place of the a/c condensor and try it to see how it works before cutting up my bumper

I see your points...If you're sure you're not going to use it...

You're a Firebird guy... I know EXACTLY what you mean about the whole bumper thing...

the tti street kit does not hack any of the front end. , just one cut to the lower hood latch support and a different washer fluid reservoir.

just unbolt the stuff i left my heater in.

MM, I meant I chose the street kit to avoid hacking my bumper. I have an OBX 3" intercooler that I plan to put in place of the a/c condensor. I made a post about it; it may not work very well to keep my iat temps down, but I want to try it.

I am definitely jealous of your car. Awesome setup

Actually I never use a/c in any vehicle except when riding with other people who request it, and that happens very rarely.

I also forgot to mention that Illinois requires a front plate.

Now you see why I eventually want a TTi race kit, or similar. No cutting up the front of the car.
