Default My CAR HATES ME!

ok so here is the deal...i need help..or at least ideas of what i should be looking for tomorrow...

blown motor was rebuilt...and put back in the car, drove it from NY to GA the day after it was put in...

after about 300miles it started leaking oil, but not a lot. After i got it back to ga the alt started to act up....voltage jumping around a lot, and the oil pressure would jump around almost with the volts. Now the car has developed a massive miss...and i am not sure why.

here is what i have checked

Oil leak:

sts oil line - wet on pass side of tranny but no holes or cuts or rips
rear main - the k-memebers is getting wet so i dont think so
oil passage plug on block - one behind the alt is getting wet which would also explain why the alt is going nuts(oil in it)

Missfire:
first of all let me say it seems like its a larger prob than just 1 cyl or even 1 bank...its a BAD miss fire. A/F is 10.0 while driving....

it seems that it is not really miss fireing that bad untill like 2k rpm.

Ground - hooked up like 4 more wires when i was driving it home...well it did get me home but was still missing like all hell
plug wires - all on and good looking

i know to check the plugs and will tomorrow but any other ideas? has anyone heard of this prob and have a fix for it? something easy hahahahahahhahaha.... just kidding cars and easy hahahaha thats a good one

Probably fouled the plugs driving that far with an A/F of 10.0:1.

i have decided to blame the MAF for the miss.....that thing was DIRTY!

but now my alt still hates me and i am not sure about the oil leak

what could be up with the alt...took it back to autozone and had it checked out...passed all the tests!

but it cuts out every now an than..

could it be belt slip on the alt? the belt is fairly new and its tight...the pully might have a little oil on it...could that be it?

That always causes greif for me, and after fluids get on the belt it tends to get shreaded and squeel then finally fall off. I just lost one last night, replaced it this morning and all is well again.

well...just on a hunch..i went ahead and pulled the + terminal off the batt while the car was running and well...NOTHING! car kept running...

so time for the multi meter...

14.06V....ummmmmm gauge inside the car....approx 11.5-12..

something is wrong and i am betting on the incar gauge.

by any chance has this happened to any of you?

your alternator is probably your problem. I broke an oil line and it leaked down on my alternator and my car was running like ****. I replaced it and all was well, until the line broke again. Then it dawned on me to just use some brake cleaner on it and it cleared right up.

no prob fixed...it was not the alt...checked it at both autozone and at home with multimeter...its making 14 volts..

the miss was because of the MAF

only thing left is the oil leak...and i need to drive the car more to get it to show its self again

the alt can check good at idle and be bad at higher idle above 2000 rpm
check your voltage with idle up above 2000, see if it drops off. ive seen this, autozone tester tests for idle only
