Default Most rwhp on a D1 on pump gas?

I can't find anyone making more power than me on a D1 blower on pump gas. I found some that were making more power (not much really) but they had methanol or were using race gas. I made 757 rwhp through my A4 and 12 bolt, and a heavy driveshaft. This was on pump 93 octane. We did back the power back down to 730 to make the tune extra safe, but it was Ok at 757.

Has anyone done better??? I can't be the highest I wouldn't think.

i almost dont believe you have a D1, those are pretty stout numbers, i don recall of any higher than that, especially through your auto and 12bolt

I actually tried to check to make sure I had a D1 the other day but couldn't see the numbers. Gotta use a mirror or something! I think the PS lines are in the way.

SVC707, if you can make that with 91 octane that would rock! It must suck out there only being able to get 91 octane. You gonna run meth?

sears point raceway is only 10-15 minutes from me i can get 110 on pump and then some. cool i was hoping my 60# would be enough, running a nasty fuel setup too with the magnafuel 4303 so i know ill have enough flow/pressure.

Sounds like we have identical fuel systems.

I *think* they were using more than just pump gas though. I could be wrong.

I actually just went out with my inspection mirror and verified it is a D1SC.

I searched and found about 3 or 4 guys making more power but every one of them was on meth or race gas.

Your not the highest but the #'s are very good. We've topped that with 346ci setup's,but I bet your torque is better with the 408ci.

In 3 weeks we will have our 427ci /D1 Car running

The 830rwhp car was a 346/F1 on pump gas (no meth ect)

How much did you get? And was it with an auto or manual?

I look forward to your new numbers. We actually have some room left to go higher, I was trying to stay lower to keep my tranny alive. I meant to be around 670-680. We might pulley it higher this winter and see how it does with cold air. We'll see.....

Thats how we lift the heads alot.Keep pushing till it doesn't hold, replace head gaskets, then turn down alittle

I'll have to check on the exact #'s. Don't really like pushing the small motor's that high since reliability goes out the window. If it's a race car it would be a different story. The 427ci already made 465hp/455tq NA at 8.5-1 compression/blower Combo. Trying to limit this to 750hp/700tq or so since it is a 100% daily driver (old combo was a 680rwhp 346)

Some day I would love to push the D1 to a limit.A nice 346ci with 11-1 compression,240 Cam should put out over 900rwhp with a small D1

Yeah, I hear ya. we installed 1/2" head studs on this motor, with the Dart heads and Cometics. Thats the main thing that scares me with making more power, I mean as it is you cannot floor this car on the street. So making another 50-100 rwhp would do nothing but give me bragging rights for the dyno races. I'd hate to loose any reliability I might have now just to be able to say I dyno'd higher. I'd rather un low 10's with less maintenance (can HG's be considered maintenance? lol) than high 9's on the ragged edge. What I need to do is lighten this thing (and find a skinny driver!) and run 9's as it sits. Its gonna be around 3800 with me in it, I'm 300 lbs. and I could take a couple hundred off the car easily. I could get a buddy to drive it and be at 3650 or so as it sits. Think that would go 9's at 730 rwhp if it hooks? Thats always been the secret goal, a 9 second street car.

We will spin it up there. The car already has the D1 so we are keeping it for now. I personally like the D1 more than the F1 for a daily driver. This setup will be in a Vette. The motor was built with the possibility of going twin turbo's in the future.

Why do you prefer the F1 over D1 for a daily driver? Does the F1 heat up the inlet air temperature too much?
