Default Victor Junior fitment issues ?

I appreciate this post isnt directly FI related, but I'd guess there are more FI people using this intake, than n/a, and it will be blown in my application, so it needs to seal properly.

I received my Edelbrock Victor jnr the other day.

I removed my stock LS6 intake, and set the Edelbrock in place.

It would appear that the valley angle of the heads, does not exactly match that of the manifold.

Block is stock LS6, un-machined
heads are CNC'd Edelbrock, un-milled, as far as altering CR is concerned. CNC'd by West Coast Racing.

If I bolt the intake so one side is totally flush, I can slip a 22thou feeler blade at the top of the opposite side. ( no o-rings fitted as yet, as I wanted to see the manifold sit tight first )

Obviously by trying to place it evenly, the gap would be less, but the intake is still not a perfect fit, and would be under stress when bolted up tight.

is this normal ???

Pic of right side, when left is bolted flush. ( right side of car, left viewing engine )

I just ordered the same thing from LME they said there would be no fitment issues, I would call whoever you bought it from and ask them. sorry not much help, good luck.

With the rubber o-rings fitted, I'd say it will seal ok, as they do sit quite proud ( I have new o-rings )

But I would have expected the manifold to fit snugly in the valley regardless.

Strange

Thats nothing,if you put bolt's in that side it would go flush easilly enough.

There are bolts in it...just not very tight.

I don't think you can judge by just bolting down one side. Put the o-rings in there and torque it down in sequence and to spec and I think you will find it fits just right. I too have the Victor Jr. but with factory heads and it seals just fine.
