TTi log and spark plug wire clearance?

TTi log and spark plug wire clearance? I am trying to get the spark plug wires on my TTi log manifold with no luck. Seems that the log is too high, so the plug wires wont line up with the plugs. I can get them on with the heat shields off, but the boots are bent upwards and they are laying on the log. 
Any other TTi guys seen this? Maybe I found yet another problem.

With your wires, do they lay on the log, or are they up off it so there is an air gap?
