nothing really, just gotta pay attention to oil level and look under the hood and inspect things. its not like anything out of the norm that you dont do anyways.

you're gonna want a built shorblock and beefed up fuel system for sure.

Its not that FI requires more maintenance, its more like any vehicle making big power requires more attention.

One of the big problems is that it seems to pull a Hudini trick with your gas.

You definitely need to look under the hood more often, and check things out. It is something the car was not originally designed with, so it carries some natural reliability risks.

Few things you will need to pay close attention to :

1. Fuel pressure
If you try to go WOT during a time when your not running optimum fuel pressure you can/will blow your motor by going lean.

2. A/F wideband : if you arent getting enough fuel or it isnt tuned right, a/f typically shouldnt go above mid/high 11's, possibly low 12's on any FI setup (low 12's for a very conservative tune regarding timing and such).

3. Engine temp
Typically engines running any type of FI setup will have the odds against them of keeping their cooling system running efficient. Always keep an eye on it and make sure its not running too hot.

4. Oil Pressure
If you have a built motor such as mine, mine was built loosely, and oil pressure can flucutate more so then a tighter built motor. Dont let oil pressure get too low (by not having enough oil) otherwise you can spin a bearing (as I did in my heads/cam motor) and it could ruin a good day.

Those are probably the most important ones that I keep an eye on.

Just remember, anytime you talk about FI, it wont ever be the same again.

It is worth it, just need to be more aware of things.

You mean low 11's/high 10's for a conservative tune, correct? Low 12's afr would be pusshing the limits for sure imo.

I think he was saying if your A/F is running at 12:1 then the rest of the tune (timing, etc.) needs to be conservative. Theres nothing wrong with 12:1, it just doesn't leave much room for error.
