The only thing that makes a plug "hot or cold" is the amount of surface area the ceramic insulator has to disipate heat.
It's a fine line you need the heat to burn off deposits but you dont want the electrode to glow.

yes they did. They said the projected tip was a hot spot waiting to cause detonation. i was told to run a R5671A-7 or 8 since i am trying to push the incons. I will try them and see how they do. I have a set of tr6s sitting here if they dont work out. They wanted me to run a -8 or -9 heat range but said to go 7/8 since i daily drive the car.
Al, Dave and I looked at them side by side in one of my heads and their was a big difference. I am installing the 4554 as we speak and will let folks know if they work for a daily driver
