I'm looking for a SAFE 700 rwhp as my goal... But I have no idea.

Forged 346, 6.0L heads, mild turbo cam, 8.5 CR, meth, T-76 at 15 psi, 3.42 gears... What do you predict it'll make?

If you go to RevX, don't forget to take a gander at the ride.

How do think the YSi and F-1SC stack up against each other?

Looks like you definitely have the combo to make 700 with ease.

I think the ATI unit would make more power cause it blows more cfm than the YSi.

Only thing with the ATi is nobody has figured out how to run on an airfilter with that blower. You have to mount it down low. With the YSi I can mount it on top, I can use it with my aftercooler setup or run it with a front mount and still be able to use the stock lid location for filtration.

I'll definitely take a look at your car, are you gonna put a 6 or 8 point in for safety?

These are my FI cars: (pics)

While I'm not at or even shooting for the 800 HP level that the original poster asked about, I can tell you that both the ATI D-1SC and Vortech V9G kits for LS1's are very streetable, make good power, and seem to be a heck of a lot more reliable and low maintenance compared to most turbo setups.

I knew this kind of thread would get the SC and turbo guys to square off. It always does. I love FI in general, so I'm not throwing stones at the turbo crowd. I'm just happy with my SC's.

Well heres my comment, ive not seen where anyone has mentioned hood clearence...me i wanna keep my stock hood appearence and not halfta buy some gawdawful 9in cowl hood just to clear a roots style blower. I had the 03 Terminator and it would fit anything but now that i have a ZO6 im stuck in the TT or Cetrifiugul sc world...anyone have any thought on open track events with the TT or the F1/D1? Not hi-jacking it just seems like a good question.

Cool... this rare 'vert will never be caged. With a switch of the front plate, my car looks 100% factory and almost everything I've done can be reversed. Caging will require some drilling, cutting of the boot covers if I want them on, etc.

This car will never see a track (Well, I'll say probably never), and is being set-up for the street... Although, I have heard of some tracks around here that are pretty slack with the rules.

I've seen some Vettes running track events on video running Magnusons... Move out pretty darn well.

You're not entirely stuck on Centri's and TT's... There is a KB Twin Screw out for the Vette... But it does require another hood that they include.

For F-body's, there are centrifugal set-ups all over the place. The kits are reliable and proven. However, if I had a Vette with all the other options for it, I wouldn't waste my time with them, JMO.

I really dont see the D1 making 850RWHP on a 408. But hell prove me wrong and ill buy ya a beer!

With meth or race gas and a manual trans, maybe.

nah it wouldn't have enough cfm to support that many cubes, a F1 would have to do it.

700-750 tops.

I was assumin pump gas, shoulda mentioned that. But i really doubt it even with more compression and race fuel, just too many cubes for ta D1 t feed i think. Im no expert but from what ive learned while researchig my build i just cant see it.

I made 757 with my D1SC on my 408, and we were only running a 3.85 pulley. This was through an A4 and 12 bolt, on 93 octane. If I had an M6, smaller pulley, and the octane to support the higher boost, I could see 800. But I agree, if 850 RWHP is the goal, get an F1.

Or spray it.....

We just finished up an 04 Corvette that is going to be seeing track event with an ATI ProCharger D-1SC at 16 psi of boost and 700+ rwhp. Tom Bagley, three time Indy 500 car racer, drove this car last week on a closed course, and was very happy with it.

Here is a link to this car. Bob
