After selling my Formula a few years ago I got the bug to buy another car to play with and bought a 99 Z28. Put a new motor/trans in it and drove it for a few months and then sold it and bought a Z06. Now I wonder why I ever wasted my time buying an F-body again. It was just "too easy" to make it go fast because I knew everything about how to make them fast and I got bored with it.

The Z06 is just such a better car all around (except maybe at the drag strip)

Go Vette you already had an F body platform, plus it will be as street car and you wont be launching all the time.

Bro as a Vette owner-the only way you'll be happy with it is if you go Turbo 400. I have broken 4 transmissions and 3 differentials and I don't know how many hardened shafts and this is with the DTE brace too and no more than 440rwhp. Vettes are awesome but getting them down the track is anohter thing. Then you have to deal with the corvette tax.

i have no idea where that came from..

David, I'de get another bird. When I saw your car at the track I
was way more impressed with it then any corvette ive seen.

heres a completely different scenario. Build a pro-touring 69 camaro. Thats something youll be able to get your money back out of. Run a Detroit Speed and Engineering rear 4 link and a wayne due c5 front clip or a 21st century front clip. Drop your turbo ls1 in there with your t56 and you can ......

have a badass head turning car
carry 4 people
have something decent handling
get a car you can get your money back out of

I did a similar car for a customer of mine and he loves it.

I bought an 02 Z06 and had it in conjunction with my 99 TA... I ended up selling the Z06. Beautiful car and ride, but got sick of every old man and school bus driver waving at me.. seriously though, it musta been in my sub-concious..and the vette is gone. Every part costs more, and its "expected" to be fast, and its just not unique ...so why flip the bill for it. I like the Turbo Gen 2 pro-touring idea as much if not more than a 4th gen f-body.
We had a 640 HP Nitrous vette 2 years ago built by APE, and after we fianelly got a good motor in it we went through 2 trannys, 1 by RPM , two carriers, half shafts and a torque tube. Okay, so the vette was easier to change plugs in and it got a little better milage...

IF this is ONLY gonna be a strret cruiser and not a modified beast, I would strongly consider the vette though. I dont think it willbe though. From your posts, I think yur vette shopping. We'll all support ya either way.

sorry for stringing anyone along, all please hear that i am freezing any buying or selling of anything at this moment. hanging on to everything until i spend more time deciding what i want to do

i backed out of a great deal on a corvette just now.

i am still very interested in all offers for firebird or vette roller cars, or complete cars of either.

i plan to sit the rest of this season out to get rid of the 'urge' which may have me jumping the gun on the next car.

i searched for 3 months to find my last car, i owe it to myself to give it more than 6 days this go round

thanks so much again to everyone's support.

my plan 'today' is to get some seasoned frame guys over to see the car and give me a thumbs up or down to a straigten or sectioning

if thumbs down i would at this point be looking for a roller or running 98+ formula

anyone that knows anyone please put them in touch with me, i can provide any photos necessary, thanks!
