From: Richmond, VA Where fast cars, well......are hard to come by.
Well of course I voted for a bird.
Looking at it, there is no way you'll not race it. -firebird
You want a street car. This would at first seem to be a c5, but when you think about it, by street car you mean one that drives well on the street. This is not something dependent on the car model but the engine/drivetrain. So as far being a 'street car' the point is moot, either looks good and both will have street manners determined by you at a later time, independent of car. -tie
Financially, the c5 will hurt a whole lot more. You have everything for the bird already. -firebird
When you look at the big points, the firebird wins imo. Though the c5 does have it's share of novelties that the bird doesn't (love the seats and hud).
And with a vette, you'd have to grow some grey hair to fit in. j/k vetters

Do the C5. I run a '03 Z06 (TTIx kit), A4, Street stall converter... drove 300 mile round trip to the track, got 24mpg bust out a 10.21@142+ on 94 and meth., 1.82 60ft, leaving at idle, 3k ft DA, 80+ degree temps.....all on a break-in tune. All readily available parts.

the vette would get the turbotech x package unless george wants to do something different.. i would be happy with the x. there are guys around 900rw with this twin kit. i would need a good roll bar and do whatever the guys do with the IRS for the power.
the bird would have a turbotech race kit and stay stick shift and keep everything else off of mine
both cars would have my engine and bs3 and twin walbro in tanks.
the next car will be built for great street manners in mind. not a drag car, just a nice car. now that i can't keep my bird i really want something that will hold its looks and value until i have a house and kids paid for.

Well for me i really wanted a c5. I was about 5 minutes awya from signing the papers on one. Well i decided to take a break and wait the weekend. With that said i ended up not buying it. I got to drive a buddies on a longer trip and i was not super impressed with the interior feeling and the comfort factor. I may be alone in that but i am 6' and about 225. So i am in the process of looking for another bird. Hope that helped a little.
