More airflow = larger wastgate, so if that larger turbo is in a more efficient range then you’ll need a larger wasteage and vice versa. On the compressor side it also depends on how well matched the turbine is to the engine combination. If your engine power is restricted by the turbine side size then going with a bigger turbine could result in needing a bigger wastgate.

there are at least a couple of cars out there running >140mph using an old school, 35 or 38mm deltagate, and I've seen 400 hp cars with a T61 that a 38mm TIAL wouldn't control boost...

I dont see why not. Im hoping my little 38 will hold atleast 6 psi... ifd not, looks like more work. Ill just hack off all the 1.5" tubing and put 2" and use a 48mm...

I dont think those would work. I have 2 set points and if I add adaptors on the existing plates, its make the set distance even closer together.

A 38 should work no problem is the design of the system is correct.

No prob with a JG40 or TSU38 gates. Either will flow plenty of air when the boost is cranked down. I run a single 38 with my PT88 and 383. 6-7psi is not a problem.

We and PT* dropped tial due to many complaints about boost creep. Plus I tested both gates myself on my personal car. The Tial was all over the place with a 7psi spring. With a TS gate I run now, its solid all the way to redline.
