Which low CR heads?
Which low CR heads? Alright guys, I'm totally new to the FI scene. I just bought the Vortech system with aftercooler (9 psi). I'm looking a decent set of heads to slap on to lower my compression to around 9:1 so I can run more boost in the future. Any suggestions? Right now I'm basically stock, mods are in sig. TIA 
LQ9/317 (6.0L) heads. I cant remember which models but I think theyre on 01-05 trucks. Bigger chambers ie lower compression and being OEM castings they sell cheap on ebay. they flow a little better than stock as theyre closer to ls6
I think you'll still be at about 9.5:1 with the LQ4/LQ9 ("317")
heads. But you could do some chamber work and up the
volume some more, maybe use a thicker gasket and get
close to your goal. If you were going to hire porting done
it might be a small incremental cost to get them done nice
and matched for volume etc.
