Default Turbo Car Restrictive Exhaust

Looking to run an exhaust on my turbo car that will quiet it down to near stock levels for sleeper purposes. Its gonna be making 800+ once i get the new injectors on there and get it tuned.

Can and probably will run an electric cutout right off the DP.

Suggestions anyone, im talking full setup from the DP back.
Size of tubing, muffler suggestions etc.

Rob

Give us a bit more info on your setup. This might be a better Forced Induction topic. You will get more people in here that will try and tell you what to do and have no clue how a turbo setup works. I personally think that if you are going to be laying down about 800rwhp that you are going to want around a 4" setup from the downpipe back.

I will be the first to say that I know next to nothing about a turbo setup on an LS1...for the record. Let me know if you need this moved.

The issue isnt so much what i can fit since i will be running an electric cutout. More like whats the most restrictive i can get away with, ideally i would like it to be as quiet as stock.

No cat btw.

I run a stock oem muffler with an electric cutout. Through the muffler kills power but its quieter then stock, more like a caddy, it passes for a v6 car all the time. It limits boost to about 9 and comes up slow, which is fine since my wife drives it daily to work. Open the cut out, straight off the turbo about 18 inches and add 100 rwhp and boost goes to 14 or so....and it whisles like mad.

My turbo Buick, [274" stage 2], 840FWHP, single 76GTQ.
3" DP, dual 2 3/4" pipes, out to the rear of the car] w/ 2-Dynomax Ultraflows, 3" dump. The difference in HP was 3, at the wheels.. closed vs open. The sound level is very low. So low, in fact, that folks thot it was a Monte Carlo...
I'd set yours up w/ a 4" dump, and 3" piping, w/ muffs..Pipes out to the rear of the car...

We put a warlock muffler on my neighbor's escalade after the turbo kit. The muffler is designed with a cutout. There is a slight power difference with it open or closed, but even though it is obviously louder than his stock exhaust, it is much quieter than my stock gto exhaust was. With the cutout opened it is a lot louder, of course. This may not work for you, however, because the largest warlock is 3" diameter inlet/outlet.

I have dual 3", with bullet mufflers in before the "y". The "y" is 4" over the exel and it split back to dual 3", through another set of short bullets just before the tips. It's quiet, but flows very well.

I'll be interested to see how the . . . does with a . . .

I'm running a 3.5" exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and it's surprisingly quiet, especially at full throttle. However, it definitely still has a rumble at idle if you stand behind it.

i think im some where around 800rwhp at the moment. i have 366ci, 76gts, and 3" downpipe back into a magnaflow catback. cutout is right after the DP. at the track i had it closed (cuz i had just snapped off the motor) and trapped 141+ with the the limiter pegged. the boost was around 14psi (it would spike to 15 but the backpressure would bleed it off. the car sounds almost like stock. with the cutout open, the turbo spools up MUCH quicker, and theres a definite gain of power. id say at least 50rwhp...
