I think it makes an air/air cooler similar to an air/water using ice. Throw it all in the ring, use NOS on the spray bar, also shoot a small shot and add some meth for good measure.

as for cooling the core, well they do for a few seconds. once underway how long does the intercooler stay under ambient temps?? not forgetting that the ambient air that normalyy cools the intercooler is now working against you in the fact its pulling the IC temps back uptoi ambient!!!!

a much better and much more proven way is to spray into the intake! you tipicaly see about twice the power gain to the size of the shot. so a 25shot will give you between 40 and 50 bhp. this is cos you are DIRECTLY cooling the inlet air, not the intercooler.

also how much N2O would you use??? looks like you would need a fair bit to have any great effect on IAT! why not just use meht?? proven to work VERY weel, is proberally cheaper and much easier to install (no presureised tanks!!!!!).

ps. not having a go at the system, just dont feel they have much use.

thanks Chris.

What data do you have to prove your case? I see you are going against what Bob said. Bob has a shop and dyno and said it works. So unless you can prove your case I have to dismiss you paragraph.

a nitrous bottle will spary wide open (no jet just hose) for quite a while.... its no like you have to have a 900#pressure....like you would if your engine was ingesting it....

plus theres no tunning to **** up.... you run a spray bar right after the burn out all the way through the run i know your IAT will drop.... ****... you'll have ice hanging off the damn thing...

Injecting nitrous into the airstream is by far more efficient as far as cooling the intake charge, plus far less nitrous is used. I don't think anyone here will argue that point, it is just that some don't want to risk what the added power of nitrous might do to the bottom end of their engine, combined with the use of forced induction. I ran 9-10psi + a 50 shot on a stock bottom end for a long time and never hurt a thing, 10.50s @ 131 mph out of a pretty much full weight 2000SS (AC compressor/lines/condensor was removed thats about it) with a P1SC/6 rib and a 50 dry shot wasnt too bad. Plus a 15lb bottle would last forever, it was worth .4 and 5mph shutting the N2O off at 5200rpm and shifting at 6200. One of the best street combos I have run to be honest.

You have to use a lot of nitrous to keep the IC cold, you have to spray it the whole pass and it still wont make the power of spraying it n the motor..

Co2 is pretty cheap from what I know, and if you don't have to tune it since it just drops the IAT's that is a Huge plus IMO. I was shooting for 650-675RWHP but with the chiller I may hit 700.

Bob what type of deal can you do with the NX Intercooler N chiller with and without Bottle. Also do I have to mount it on the front of my OBX intercooler or can I mount it behind the intercooler????

as everyone else has said no2 in the motor will make big power... but i look at it as something else to screw with....

if you want more power than a d1sc... i say either get a bigger blower...

if you want just a little more spraying the IC will help... and yes youll have to spray the **** out of it but.... IAT will go down...

^ word...

You might as well tell people they shouldn't drive their car in the winter, just spray nitrous to cool the charge instead... Absurd.

Nitrous to drastically cool the intake charge and MAKE MORE POWER is not the purpose of this FMIC spray bar, it's JUST to cool IAT's down a bit and leave everything else unchanged. Hell, you could run a small nitrous 50-shot AND keep the FMIC ice-cold with a spray bar, big deal, it's just a little help for IAT's, not meant to replace methanol/nitrous.

In addition; no tuning required.

I'll have to get back with you on a price. I would mount the bar ahead of the intercooler, so that it will still be hitting it when the car is moving. Bob

well you go do that! lol all im telling you is from what i have heard, like i said. and im not having a go a bob or anyone else.

and im not saying it doesn't work, all im saying is there are better methods and way to use the N2O. guys have been spraying their intercoolers for much longer than these kits have been out! ALL the WRC (infact even the group A cars did back in the 90's!!!!) spray water onto the intercooler! and that is proven to help get their (amittedly they do run high turbo presures , thus higher IATs) temps down! also road guys have proven it works to! and that is dirt cheap, readaly avaliable and super safe!

i know your not allowed to do it at the track. but it would, sorry does, work great on the street! you could even spray you cooler with meth! not great if it catches fire though! lol

i would like to see some real world testing of these kits to be done to see what kind of perforemance gains you really see from them! and i mean out on the road with a logger! bob have you ever taken a car to the track with one of these fitted??? that would be nie to see if their on and off times where any diffrent.

but then what do i know! lol

thanks Chris.
