Question Max Spark Advance @ 7-8psi???

I finally got my overboosting issue fixed with my new Incon TT kit.

The car has a dead-on street tune @ 5psi and I'm about to add a manual boost controller to get 7-8 psi

Currently my timing is set at 21 degrees on most of the chart, and 20 degrees towards the top end of the rpm scale..

What's the max timing @ 8 psi?

Thanks, ~Joshua

Would like to know compression. I would guess your probably right about where you want to be. To find the max though your just going to have to back it off some and then slowly creep up until you get a hint of KR and the back it off a hair.

Yeah, it was the actuator pre-load.

It was too tight so when the actuator started moving @ 5psi it took a while before the arm moved far enough, in the time lapse the boost was still building.

Fixed now though.

I run 5-6 PSI with a non intercooled Vortech (stock engine).
On the dyno we checked the power from 17 to 22* without seeing any difference!
This for different AF-Ratios between 11:1 and 12.5:1.

There is a limit given by the specific engine configuration and adding timing only increases the risk of having knock.

I think you should keep the lowest timing for the max power and not set a timing goal.

I was running 19 degrees of timing on my 7.5-8psi runs. At 13psi we are running 13-14 degrees. Still on the stock motor though.

It's a violent ride to be sure. A nitrous bottle that never runs out.

I'm still getting boost creep. It's at about 6 right now. I need to fix the creep, because if it's at 8... it's gonna hurt if it spikes to 11+
