So close....but Im happy enough
Previous belt issues I had seem to be solved with the addition of another idler. Never had to touch the car all weekend, aside from changing the rear tyres for racing..
First time at a proper strip with my 255/50x16 MT DR's, although I probably could have launched harder. But as I'm on a stock T56, and a 2 piece driveshaft, I wasnt going to try too hard.
First run on pump gas only, was a 10.52@145mph with a poor 1.97 60ft time.
After that I switched the meth on.
On the Saturday I ran a best of 10.07@148.06mph, with a 1.76 60ft.
Then my first run on Sunday netted me a 10.04@148.42mph with a 1.758 60ft.
Last run on the Sat could have been a 9, first few hundred feet were my best run, then I missed 4th gear and ended up with a 10.25@141mph...damn
Im sure I could have got a 9, but the queues were far too long. There was around 90 minutes in between each run.
Best trap of the weekend was 149.36mph. When I swap to 3.27 gears, I think I'll easily see 150

Just have to wait until next year for that though.

have you got the new intak manifold on yet???
think its time for a little N2O! just to cool the intake of course! hehe

Chris.
It looks good though.
No NOS for me. It only runs done, and trying to get the damn stuff over here is a nightmare.
you can upload the videos on www.fquick.com for free and link them, let me know if you need me to post the videos for you!
sorry you missed 9's by a **** hair, i know how that feels
Might be a little lighter than that now, as I did have a Kevlar hood made for it early this year. Havent weighed the car recently though, but will do.
Not the same as the US car with same name.
Must say, it is performing better than I had ever expected. I had originally wanted comfortable and consistent 10's at 140+ a few months back...
But seeing as the next step is so close....I have to get there.
Stock T56 is holding up well, but from other peoples experiences, the output shaft is the minium that will need upgrading.
My driveshaft is a 2 piece unit, 3" steel, 1350 jointed.
But the rear section has a slip joint, which looks like a weak point.
Due to the length of shaft I require, a one piece is not an option, as none will perform at the speeds I require. Carbon might or a large diameter alloy, but I dont have room for them anyway.
I need a shaft capable of circa 9000rpm, and a 1 piece ends up at something like 53" long.
I may just get a solid rear section made up, and let the centre bearing cope with the movement instead.. There really isnt that much movement, so I think it will be ok.
Then the weakest bit will be the bit thru the centre bearing itself, but its not too bad.
