I made right at 600rwhp on my 346 but it took 16-17lbs to make that much power (the turbo should be maxed). My question is would the larger T-76 make the same power with less boost yielding me a lower backpressure level? Secondly, I am using an LS1 intake manifold. There is no true way of knowing without testing but estimating, what is that intake costing me? Anotherwards, how much more boost am I having to run to make the same power? I am not trying to make any more power, 600rwhp is fine for me. But could an LS6 intake possibly allow me to make the same hp on two psi less boost?

I'm not trying to steal your thunder 02SSLE, I just thought I would chime in since the same kit was in question. That and I am concerned with backpressre and may possibly buy your T-76 if it will help my cause, and as long as you haven't sold it yet. I would love to hear that the LS6 intake would drop 1.5 psi and the T-76 would drop another 1.5 psi. I could make 600rwhp on 13psi of boost!
I am no expert by any means, but I do have alittle experience with your kit. Boost is a measure of restriction, so going to a better flowing intake will make more power at the same boost level/allow you to make the same power on less boost. I also am a believer that a 76-gtq will allow you to make more power at the same boost level/same power on less boost. Only downfall to the changes would be slower spool time.

I know of a local guys set-up that has been where you are pondering on taking your car...and it took him right at 15 psi to make 600rwhp on a dynojet, with meth, through a 6 spd, on a 346, 18 degrees of total timing, similar compression, 76 gtq, exact same turbo kit, through a 12 bolt.

My new turbo will be in tuesday or wensday. So next weekend I will switch turbos. This weekend I will finish the intercooler install and hook the T76gtq back up and measure the back preasure and the intercooler for every one to know what is really going on. Instead of going by what people think. Because I really don't think the turbo is done yet.

New Turbo come in today TKS Jose http://video.ls1tech.com/video/b50de...7d0135d9f2.htm http://video.ls1tech.com/video/8d585...7d013688a5.htm I am very impressed with Forced Inductions so far. All I need now is exhaust side housing which they are coating for me.

Well I have an update guys. The turbo is not done yet. Now with the bigger intercooler it's making more boost. Before on the dyno it wouldn't make more than 15 PSI now it made 17 to 18 before letting out really quick. Back preasure has dropped to 50psi from 65psi. I am still having problem tho. I am seeing 32 psi at turbo and 32 on intake side of intercooler but only seeing 16 psi in take. The only thing in the way from where we taped is Maf and TB. Do you all think the intake and TB just can't flow enough for this size of motor? This weekend before I change turbos out I will drill and tape a TB that I have extra and see if restriction is the TB or the Maf. Is there any thing else that you all want me to check before the switch? Also I have new pics http://video.ls1tech.com/video/66d4d...7f0160c95c.htm http://video.ls1tech.com/video/66d4d...7f0160c95c.htm. http://video.ls1tech.com/video/bacc8...7f016194fc.htm

I would like to see a pressure reading at the outlet of the intercooler. I really doubt the MAF and TB are that bad. At 16 psi boost, I'm losing <2 psi through 3" piping, a water/air intercooler, a de-screened stock MAF, and a 58 mm TB. With a 15 psi pressure drop through your stuff, I still suspect something lodged somewhere or the TB not opening fully.

Sounds like you're making progress, though. When you get the cold-side pressure drop sorted out, that thing is going to scream!

the reading on the outlet side of intercooler is 32 psi. I had all pipes off inspected them and we eliminated a few joints tigging them up. I have one peice cold side pipe all the way from turbo to intercooler now and same on the outlet side of intercooler.

Yikes! 16 psi drop from the outlet of the intercooler to the plenum is truly ridiculous. I would think the restriction would be Intuitively Obvious to the Casual Observer (as my old college prof used to say).

I am going to drill and tap the throttle body this weekend and see if boost is making it too the TB. I do have a screen on my TB you think thats the prob?

Wow, that IC is horrible. WAY to much intercooler PR drop.

No, he's saying from the outlet of the intercooler to the place in the manifold where his boost gauge is, is dropping that PSI. As in almost no pressure drop across the intercooler.

yes that is how it is. No preasure drop across the intercooler.

Well I have everything to start work this weekend on turbo switch. Hopefully it goes smooth. Not expecting too many probs but the huge A/R 96 may give us some probs. O well looking forward to getting it right.
