Tony said it well, but I know for a fact that if someone had brought up the idea for any of the other ppl that a few of us would have donated then too. We are a tight community and help each other out when in need. Totalling a car qualifies as "in need" IMO. Not many people can just "go buy another".

I know that there are a few members here that silently helped out my little bro when he went through all the **** with APE. Not necessarily with cash, but with parts, time, etc. Maybe the fact that this was public is what is causing the problem? Dunno...

Dave, congrats on the wheel purchase, you got a hell of a deal!

I know bro... but some people just don't understand. We both know that there are plenty of people here that are willing to help out almost anyone, for anything. It's part of that family like atmosphere that we find at the big gatherings too.

I guess if you didn't donate, you don't need worry about it.

Who cares what a person spends their money on. Thats total bullsh!t that they get pissed about it.
The people who get offended about it, are the people who "Didnt want" to donate in the fist place" but felt peer pressure and ultimatly wanted to feel cool and post "I donated"

So take the money and build what you want to. If its wheels that you want, then its wheels you should buy.

I'm sure MM felt guilty in the very beginning when people started donating. Now everyone wants him to feel guilty about spending it?????

When your 20+ grand deep into the rebuild, then ask yourself if the little bit of money you got made ANY dent whatsoever on your build.

Enjoy bro...

BTW, I'll donate up to 50 bucks on MM's behalf to one of the guys who is b!tching about "How" he is spending. JUST TO SHUT YOU UP...
DEAL???

I don't think you can compare cash with parts/time.

You accidentally wrecked your car. But, going into debt just to fund another 1000 HP weekend toy is your choice. You could have just as easily began to part the car out and maybe had no debt. Don't blame going into debt on the car parts you are buying, it is more like bad priorities. Who says you have to build something in a hurry and go into debt? Some guys take years to build their hotrod, and stay out of debt.
