Default Principles of Turbos

Are there any good books on turbochargers/systems/motors/theory etc? Like length of tubes, how the engine should flow, intercooler size/placement etc. I am looking for something written out and entirely accurate... I have heard Maximum Boost by Korky Bell is good.. any input would be great

i''m looking for more on the system/piping rather than turbo selection.... manifold designs, symmetry among piping, things like that.... in a book too..

Yes, buy Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. It covers all of the basic topics in detail. Definitely get that one.

werd, very good start for learning... he covers most aspects in detail and is very good and describing/explaining things in simple terms.

the biggest thing I want to learn about is how important symmetry across banks on the hot side are.... I'm hoping that will be covered

I was thoroughly pleased with this book. There are some small things he doesn't cover well (bypass/BOVs to name one thing) but overall as far as general theory goes for design considerations, it will give a neophyte confidence to start designing.

The rest you can pick up here.

I have Maximum Boost as well. Very good overall coverage.
I also have a book called Turbochargers by Hugh MacInnes on my wish list this Christmas.

Check out Amazon.com, there are plenty of books out there. Hopefully one of them will cover what you are looking for.
