It's a hard call, but keeping entries to a 28 10.5 just by itself would scare away any bottom 8 second cars. Look at the Milan rules, they are very simple. But basically for their drag radial class it's anything goes and folks run low low 8's.

I think it will HELP with getting more cars. I'm not looking for bottom 8 second cars. Again I'm looking for more of a streetable car!! Going with a larger tire and you will see 7 second cars. Then who will show up to run them? They all ready have classes for them. I want to do this for the fun- (sport) of it.

Right, I'm agreeing with you Andy. I think it's a good idea to restrict tire size, have to draw the line somewhere if it's going to be a CLASS of any kind. I'm just saying come up with 1-2 major restrictions not 4-5. It does not work. When something is new you have simple rules not 'mature' rules like an NMRA where it's two pages of rules for a class.
Milan Drag Radial is pretty cool and it's probably going to be a 7.9 class next year. Given that guys like the OH Boyz are running and running 101mm turbos the class should be a blast.

I like Kevin's idea of only allowing intercoolers in the engine compartment and not in the seat area... For example Mike Brown's CE TA would have qualified to run, and his car had most of the stock interior.

You giving me too much credit!!! My best run of the season was a 8.63. I think there's some nitrous cars that could hang. I want the field to be in the 8's, even if you ran a 8.99 you could be in the hunt. We are not pros on the tree. Turbos are hard to stage and get on boost! When Mike and I ran at the last rsd I think we both ran a 13 sec @ 80 mph. We both had problems!
This would be a cool start to the list!!
1. PSJ
2. Kyle
3. Mike Brown
4. Tuff
5. Z8's.... something tells me he runs 8's.
6. I know there's two Speed Inc single turbo cars running around!! In fact there's another twin almost done! That's three.
7. Outlaw SHOULD have a 8 second f body running aroud next season! If not I could help them.
8. Me
That's just a start off the top of my head.

andy..... i thought you were trying to make this a local class? kyle, mike brown etc are all out of towners.
if you want to make it a local thing, than iw ould open it up to turbo mustangs, supras , vipers etc..... this way you'll get more cars out

I run the 29.5x10.5
I am not thrilled about it being at GLD ,I'd rather not go there.

I'll probably just run some local stuff with mine. www.texastrueten5.com
This has become a popular event to run, might copy the rules from it. They have one similar to what you are talking about. A mustang cleaned house all year, running 5.1's

They just started a 10.5 class At Carolina Dragway(South Carolina).. Stock Style Suspension, no wheelie bars, and true 10.5 tire.. That's about the only rules I believe.. It starts this weekend.. First sat of every month.. I hope to have something soon for that class..
