Okay I ordered a custom Yank verter for my TH400. I got a 11 inch verter with a 3000rpm stall speed. Dave recomended the lower stall due to the TH400 having a T-Brake. I will be running a set of 325/50/15 DR's on the street and 28x10.5 slicks at the track with a 3.50 gear in the 9 inch. Should be brutal al the way around.

I am not to worried about the OD. This is my shop car. It is by far more of a wicked street car/race car. I had planned on a 4L80E but decided to save the extra $$ involved and spend it else where. (bigger Turbo )

Yeah I am gonna start with a TC76 with a MPS wheels upgrade. It is the Turbo I will be offering with my Shops Kits here real soon. More on that later. I plan to step up to a PT88, though those new GTM 76mm units have peaked my intrest. Hell I amy even change the whole setup and do a twin 70mm setup. I realy would like to offer an affordable twin kits too. Hmmm... I have alot of thinking to do.

The 4L80E is the best way to go if you want to keep your OD and an auto tranny. They are not that hard to fit in a F-Body at all. That and they can take a beating in stock form, and live behind a 1000rwhp car when built.

I just picked up a "built" 4l80. Its in quotes b/c rock-on built it and they have had some problems with not quite building them strong lately. It also has a MVB but it doesnt work perfectly it likes to stick between 1-2 shift so I'm just gonna swap a stock one back in.

you dont wanna learn how to drive a 6 speed with 500rwhp. I also dont like manuals on turbo cars because you lose boost on the shifts unless you are power-pedalling it. (bad lol)
TH400 or 4l80e, but ditch the 4l60e
if it were my car id be doing a TH400 because those trannies are so damn fun with manual valve bodies IMO.

yea, thread was brought back from a while ago... i have decided on a 4l80 with a manual valve body. Going to look to get a stock 4l80 with a decent converter and manual valve body and when that breaks i'll worry about a build, but i think a stock one should be fine for the current power level... first things first, get this car running!
