Default Cats and PE Mode!

If a boosted car has cats on it and all surviving boosted cars have a very rich PE mode in general how can the cats survive being excessive richness burns them up?

Fuel is actually added to keep the cats cool. A stock car can see sub 11.4 with the stock tune in an effort to keep the cats safe.

Interesting I got a different sort of answer at another site!

http://z06vette.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103526

Probably, the answer is a combination of the two. I have heard that if the cats get over 1650deg there toast so that would give your answer some credibility. Of course what gave rise to my question was my new Random Cat Warranty which states that the cats will overheat if the fuel is flooding with no mention of the related heat (or duration).

So I think I can gather if the cats get too hot and they get a big splash of fuel like in PE mode they will cook.

So don't work the car too hot because the cats won't like it, either!

Thank you!
