i send you email with pics of #5 and #7 pistons and rings and you can decide if the stock bottom end can handle 6psi in DFW temps/humidity, installed and tuned by 21CMC/LPE. My vote is NO!

read my sig..... go all motor and save yourself the headache i have gone through. my 403 is nasty fast. the car is faster now than when it had the blower on it making 518/459.

OR forge the 346 with low compression pistons. in addition do a single turbo kit, not a blower or a twin turbo. if you want a dyno quen to brag to people about go with a linear power adder(p1 or vortech) or something that makes power all over the place with 8-9psi then go with a stroker + single turbo. put a motor in your car that makes power effortlessly, it will last longer and be alot more fun. in the end i have spent 17k from the mistake. cost of blower + install, deinstall, resell for half of what i paid for it and then buy LS2 bare block and have a professionally built LS2 403.

We installed the ATI ProCharger on Andy's T/A this year. Andy lives down in El Paso. We have many ATI ProCharger equipped cars out on the road on stock bottom ends, without any problems. The nice thing about using an ATI ProCharger to achieve the higher hp, is that the car still gets great gas mileage when cruising. Bob

Going on year #4 with a stock bottom end... Dont dragrace at the track, dont beat the liveing s... out of it everytime I step on the gas, and have a stock rear-end on 275's. Id say an awesome tune should be your best friend, to say the least. Thats 500+rwhp in the Houston heat too. Dallas dosent know what hot and humid is, it even gets below frezing in the winter there! LOL *Edit no hatin on Dallas peps. GO COWBOYS! Id rather live there but family is all here in the town by the bay.

You might also be interested in the new Magnuson kit for F-bodys. As long is everything is properly tuned for the amount of boost you're making, the heat isn't going to stop the supercharger from making power. Tuning is the big issue with heat.

Let me know if I can answer any quuestions,
Ed

ATI SC will make better power and is smoother to drive than any N/A engine with a big cam and heads. I have been running the SC for a while now with no problems. We pushed the stock short block past the 600rwhp mark on a Mustang dyno with no problems. It is all in the tune.
At 8psi the setup used to make 400rwtq at 3K RPM and 500rwtq at 4K RPM and it keeps over 450rwtq until 6600RPM. All this while keeping stock like driveability. You will need a 402-427 with some aggressive cam and heads to do that.

Then again you can always do both later on, but i would start with the SC and then do the engine so you setup it for boost.

This car has been recently driven quite hard on many occasions on a closed road course in Illinois by a three time Indy 500 driver, which shows the durability of the ATI ProCharger system. Bob

if your looking to make over 550rwhp but under 700rwhp id say stick with a 408 and nitrous.... FI has cost me soo much... about 3x more than i ever thought..... i wish i had stuck witha high compression and a 300shot of nitrous.... much easier to maintain in my eyes and a lot cheaper.... and not a lot of extra weight and clutter in the engine bay...

i say build a 427 and use a nice head and large cam with a single plane intake and then use a doulb bar plate..... that would make a nice violent 60ft
