Default Pulley What size?

I have Procharger D1 on the way. Trying to figure out what pulley to start with. I currently have a 3.4, 3.2 and 3.0

Is the 3.4 too small to start with??

I am shooting for 600 or more rwhp.

I started with the 4.5 with a stock bottom end and now I'm using a 4.0! I would'nt use the 3.4 unless you have a 8 rib and a forged bottom end!!!

With the SDCE crank pulley which is 7.25" a 3.4" will max out the D-1SC at 7100 RPM or so. If you want to max it out sooner you can do that by running the ATI 8 rib crank pulley which is 7.65". This will allow you to max the D-1SC out at 6800RPM or so with a 3.4 pulley.

By the way i have an 8 rib 7.65" that I'm going to sell soon. Tell me if you want it.

I don't think I can run anything larger with the SDCE

3.4 for the win. My 3.4 on the P1SC gives me 10-11 pounds of boost. The D1SC shold give you 2-3 more with the same pulley as the P1SC.

Ed, I don't remember if I asked you yesterday if you have upgraded your fuel system to handle the increase in power. We see 600 rwhp as the upper limit to where we feel safe with using the stock fuel lines. Past 600 rwhp, we've been swapping out the whole fuel system, as we did on these two cars.

Fuel upgrades are currently a Racetronix with the harness and a Casper Volt Blaster.

Thanks again Bob for helping me out on the D1.

I don't know how it'll translate over to your 383 but this is my set-up.

9.1 comp 346, Ported heads, TR 224/227, SDCE tensioner, 3.50" 8-rib pulley, dual 3" inlet hat, TTS Longtubes, 3"y - 4" over axle - 3" dual exhaust, M6, 12bolt w/3.73's.

18 deg timing, 13.5-14 psi @ 6200, 93 octane
672 rwhp/600 rwtq SAE

Nice numbers. I would be happy with 600 rwhp.

The 3.7 with the SDCE is the best overall performer for me, the 3.4 picks me up ~2psi of boost but the car doesnt pick a ton at the track. I would just put a 3.7 on it and call it a day, its where the bllower really likes to be if you shift around 6800.

I don't plan on shifting any higher that 6200-6300.

And if the 3.4 will bring in the boost sooner.

Plus I would have to order a 3.7

If you are keeping the RPM down then the 3.4 would be better for you.

7.25/3.4 @ 6200 = 54204rpm
7.25/3.7 @ 6800 = 54629rpm

Looks pretty close to me

Uh oh, Ed got his D1 and is pullying up !

Hmm, wonder if I should learn from your mishaps and sell my NX MAF setup and put the proceeds towards a D1 too (keeping the P1 for smog like you're doing).

Thats one reason why I am doing it.

But it was my fault for the boom. Not the Nitrous.
