Default Upgrade questions

This winter I plan on upgrading my P1SC to a D1SC. I was wondering if that is my only option, or if I could go with something bigger like an F1? Can this be done on an LT1 or would it require alot of mods to make it work?

Cool

A F-1 will fit on the stock bracket. Some Grinding on the block may be required.

What you need more power for you dont drive it anyway hahaha. You could do a D1SC fits in the same case as the P1SC so you should have no prob

yeah, i would also like to know if it is possible to upgrade to a F-1 from a D-1 with out redoing a lot of things. If just the head unit would bolt up to the bracket as the D-1 would on an LT1..

Yes the F1 will fit right onto the same bracket and its the same diameter. The blower is thicker however by about .400" which will move the air inlet rearward. This would need to be dealt with as clearance is tight.

Now if I go by the specs on ATI then what i get is

A P1SC can support 825 HP at the fly flowing max of 1200 CFM

A D1SC can support 925 HP at the fly flowing max of 1400 CFM

An F1R can support 1300 HP at the fly flowing max of 2000 CFM

So if I go by a 20% loss with an auto that theroically means that a

P1SC can support 700 RWHP

D1SC can support 740 RWHP

F1R can support 1040 RWHP

So unless you have maxed out what you already have why upgrade? Id be more than happy with over 700 RWHP

Excellent anology! We got 757 rwhp with a D-1SC on a 402 with AFR heads, but it was clearly maxed out. 700 rwhp will get you into the nines, but it takes more than power to get the car there. On an LT1 I would stick with a D-1SC unless the car is a max effort drag car. Clearances with the LT1 are not very good, at best. Bob
