The F1-C and F1-R have the same external size... So what we are doing now should work with both the F1-R and F1-C.

Tapping the block is really easy, did mine in the car. I believe its 1 of the bolts that mounts in the power steering pump side (drivers) when hanging the SC, this is a all thread that the actual SC mount mounts to.

Now that's something I would be very interested in seeing the results on !! Do you know if you can still use the sdce setup or will it be history?

most of the time belt slip is not a problem when you have a 7.625 crank pulley and a 4.25 blower pulley... just a thought

So to summarize....

I'll use the 4.5 intercoolers for now. They are good for now with the stock bottom end and probably would be good up to the power level I may want in the future.

I'll use the stock inlet hat. I may get the EPP elbow for future use but if I go with a Fseries blower I'll can't use it unless I get a relocation setup as described.

Will running a F model blower on the shock bottom shorten it's life if setup correctly?

Not if you run low boost. If you want to run a F1 or F1-A keep boost under 8psi and your motor will last along time.

So now I am on the fence between an F1A and F1C.

Definately want to go above the F1 but faily confidant I don't need the F1R.

I see fro mthe chart that the F1C is bigger on the inlet and inducer. Does this affect the fitment with the supplied hat? Will I have an easier time fitting the -A rather than the -C?
Anything I am missing that will help me trade off between the two?

Yes the F1 and the F1A will fit much easier than the larger F1C and F1R blowers. The F1A is certainly enough blower for most people. Bob

I just got set up with an f-1a, and it is quite impressive to look at.
It should be running shortly after christmas, and I will post up dyno numbers as soon as I am done with it.

I using an ls2 427 and the l92/l76 combo.

Good luck with your blower decision.

Don't forget to beef up your cooling system as well. Alot of guys don't have cooling problems since they yanked the ac, but since you want to keep yours, you'll most likely need a thicker radiator and figure out how to stuff 2 or more fans in there. I know it can be done with the D1 and F1, but F1C could be a different story. When you get the front mount, ac condensor, and thicker radiator, it's easy for the car to overheat in stop and go traffic when it's 90+ humid degrees with the ac on.

That's when the $ starts to add up, and you have to ask yourself if you will really be able to use that much power on the street. Now, with that being said, if there was already a proven F1C kit for our cars, I would have jumped on that in a second !!

What power is typically expected with running an F1A at 7-8#s?

I was looking at Bob's website and the car with the SLP 402 had the D1 pushig 13#s to make ~750. If the car had an F1, how many #s are required to make the same power?
