Default ITS Gt80 X-trim?

any inputs on this turbo on 377 ci motor? would this turbo be a better option compare to a pt-88 or a gt42-76?

We tested the ITS80 a few years back, and the turbine wheel is what really killed the performance on that unit. The 80mm compressor wheel is just underdriven by the smaller X and R trim wheels. I would go with one of the new Turbonetics, or Garrett's.

Last time I talked to Innovative they told me the X-trim was to compete with the GTS wheel. The R wheel outflows the X wheel.

LOL, ITS has been spiraling downward for a while.

Also the X-trim is made from the R-trim wheel. The X is nothing more then the R-trim wheel cut with a backstep. Which means it flows less then the X-trim wheel. Also the R-trim flows good, but does not have the tip height of the new GTS and MPS turbines so it does flow well, but suffers from lag due to its aerodynamic design.

It might not flow as much as the others, but lag is certainly not an issue with the BB turbo. I know the Ford guys whimpered about it with the various PT? kits but they were simply lacking an cubes. It's never been an issue in the 2 years I've been beating on this turbo.

Launching at 11lbs on a pro tree off the transbrake with a 3,500 stall converter and hitting 15lbs by 3,700 rpm with the controller set to 15lbs is decent spool for a street car.

I simply ran out of time to see what it's going to do at 17 and 19lbs this year. So hopefully that will be a quick project in the spring.

I have this exact turbo on my truck right now. The truck is a build in progress but i should have results very soon. This will be on a 408 8.5:1cr and weighs 6000+lbs, so, not sure the info will help you much.

how about 640/640 in second gear thru a 4L80E? more info in the eastern section. boost hit 18lbs then dropped immediately to 9lbs on a dynojet. spooled too fast or something like that.

it's a beast on the road.
