A2W Intercooler In A Daily Driver?

The guys driving the TTi Race Kits do. I averages 3 days a week this summer making 40 mile round trips on the street and highway between the house and work. Then plenty of cruising and testing on the street.
A properly sized A2W is plenty streetable and my car has never run into temp issues when the opportunity to enjoy playing around on the the street presents itself.

I don't remember the size of the intercooler but I'm guessing its rated in the 900hp range. The water tank is probably 1.5 gallons and it uses a nice radiator/fan setup to cool the returning water.
I don't bother running ice on the street. The system manages what you need to have for playing around on a warm day really. Runing the water pump and fan will cool the water back down nicely after playing around in traffic. If you have clear air cruising on the freeway you don't even need to run the fan really.
The track is certainly where it shines though. You can fill the water tank with ice and have bath tub warm water on high 9 low - 10s pass on a 90+ degree day. Drain tank and toss in another two bags of ice and go play. You might see your IATs run up 15-20 degrees over ambient on a 95 degree day when the ice is in there. If you toss meth in there you're looking at winter air where ever you race.

TTi race kit puts the water tank in the stock batt location, with the batt relocated. MECHAM changed his kit around and put the tank in the spare tire well, leaving the batt in the stock location.

i got a custom set-up where the 9 gallon water tank is in the trunk, and the spearco intercooler is in the left front corner of the car behind the bumper cover and the water pump is mounted under the trunk floor, but you can mount that anywhere in line.
Also i use garden hose to run the water, like the soft rubber kind, with barb fittings. But you can use whatever you want. IT IS FOR SALE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED!
IT ALL FITS NICE WITH MINIMAL FABRICATION

my intercooler looks the same as the one above, but one air openning is on the top, and its not a cheap unit! its a spearco unit, new $1100, and it is perfect for up to 1200hp applications
