cheap turbo to support 650rwhp?
I have seen all the eBay Chinese crap turbos and I have heard very little good about them. speaking to some local shops masterpower turbos have gone down the crapper since new management.
I am looking for a turbo that will support 650hp and that can be had for about $700.
I found out OBX racing makes turbos and they have a turbo with similar specs to a "HKS t04R" which will support the power I am looking for the price I’m willing to pay.
I know lots of people run the OBX intercoolers, pipes, bovs, etc. but has anyone used/heard of their turbos?
Also, are their any other companies that sell a turbo to match my needs?
btw this has nothing to do with "T and A"...sorry guys

I would actually stay away from MasterPower, just ask DrTurbo. They have had bad experiences with them. From what I got out of a previous thread, they had quite a high percent of bad units.

a turbo isn't the palce to cheap out considering it will be providing you with power. If you get a crappy turbo it could either, be really crappy/laggy. It could die with in a couple thousand miles...ect.

I had 3 T70 units I ordered from Master Power directly. All of them failed and took me over 7 months to get a response from them. I finally said screw it and bought a Turbonetics unit for my particular application. You get what you pay for.

Thanks guys. I have read/talked to numerous shops and they said that master power had a change in management and since then every one of their turbos have catastrophically failed and they have refused to honor their warranty.
whom would you suggest to buy a turbo from? which dealers have the best prices?

Ditto, and yes MP has changed, and yes many of the dealers have dropped them. We still have some new units on the shelf that we are not selling to the public for the lack of parts to be able to fix them.

Actually a big part of it depends on what you want as far as how fast it spools, are you using a manual tranny/auto, what cubic inch do you have, are you looking for a street combo/drag app, Daily Driver, reliable, etc.

Search around the forums for somone selling used turbos etc
Go with a turbonetics turbo if you want to save money, its name brand and has a decent warrenty
OBX is good for intercoolers, and some headers, and intakes but I wouldnt buy real performance parts from them like a turbo
