Blowers are capable of working, but I think they are far more trouble than they are worth. Start with turbos and be done with it. Just my .02.

Kinda seems obvious that you had installer issues, especially if the same kit works fine for someone else.

As far as I'm concerned, its "always something" with any high HP car. Turbos have their fair share of issues too, as noted in this thread, not to mention cost. I'm happy with my D1SC/408 setup, made 757 RWHP on 93 octane and still has room left. The only thing keeping me from an F1x blower and 800+ RWHP are my tranny and 12 bolt posi. I only wanted about 650 RWHP with the ability to go higher later, damn Dan Bills/FLP for making more power!

I'm happy with my setup; I would suggest an adjustable fuel pressure regulator though. As far as belt issues you have to pay attention to how all of your pulleys line up and space them accordingly. Other than that change your s/c oil at suggested intervals and you are good to go.

Are the latest prochargers still really loud? I don't mean the whine, but the rattle they tend to make at idle.

when your guts get ripped into the back seat when you smash the gas does it really matter about a blower rattle? i cant wait for mine to get ripped out with my 750rwhp, I had 500 and that was sick in my 00 ta my new motors going to be THE BOMB!!! get a d1sc kit from Bob at EPP bolt it on have him tune it for you and go beat the **** out of the thing and tell me after if you really care about blower rattle anymore when you cant wipe the smile off your face!

I have nothing but praise about my ATI D1-SC. It made 781.5 @ 6500 on a engine dyno. I'm kinda curious what it make at the tires when I get the car finished. Gut wrenching I'm sure.

Best mod I ever did! My D added about 250hp, & dropped about 2 seconds off my et. And it's still consistent at the track. I made 5 passes all in the 10.40s/130mph my last day out. Plus the car really gets some looks at the car shows now.

As for issues, get an 8 rib with the ATI crank pulley, and you won't have slipping. And get a BIG fuel pump. Or a Racetronix + KB BAP. And if you plan to go above 10 psi plan on adding meth or an FMIC. I'd also recommend a solid tensioner.

Hard to say, he could have a super loose blower belt and a screwed up tune. Bob

What about those of you who enjoy the sound of naturally aspirated motor loping? Or have most of you retained a nice lopey idle with your sc setup? That would be the drawback besides costs that I'd imagine.
