help me decide On which on these blower cams
It is only a street car, with a D1-sc twin intercooled Procharger system and Alky control Razor F-body methanol injection.
I am running Long tube FLP headers - Y pipe (no cats) to the stock SS 3" , duel -duel SLP exhaust system that came on the car since new.
OK i looked into the Thunder racing blower cam 214-230 601/575 lift on a 117 +1 degree. Thunder told me their cam is on there special lobes.
Also i was recomanded a Comp 214-224 585/563 lift camshaft on a 116 + 4 degrees with EX intake and XER exhaust lobes,
Lingenfelter has a 208-230 540/550 lift blower cam on a 121.
I am looking for something like these with very streetable manners and a close to smooth idle.
But i am confused about LSA and CL and Lobes and ramp rates.
I dont know if i should have it built on a lower CL to pick up more bottom end power, or to have it built on a higher LSA + CL to move the RPM power range up , to get more RPM out of her,
I been hearing that all the blower cames peak at 6,500 RPM anyway , i dont know how true this is
Please help ,Or let me know your combo and what cam your running
And if anyone is using any of these cams
The car is a street car , maybe see the 1/4 mile 2-3 times a year , but really a total street car,
I dont think i will need to spin her past 6,500 RPM.
I am making 540RWHP now at 10 PSI on the stock motor, (stock heads stock cam, everything).
I am shootong for 650-700 after the rebuild, and ported heads , blower cam and more boost.
just not sure on what lobe to but it on XE, XER, or the new XFI lobes ,
and also what LSA and CL to but it on, for my power range.
Help!

I like the extra exhaust duration this thunder cam has, but still not sure on the 117LSA and 116 CL.
Also being my car is a 100% street maching what ramp rate ( Compcams Lobes) should i go with? XE, XER, the new XFI,, what are the differances between them?
some say to put the cam on a 115-117 LSA but have degrees burned in so i end up with a 112-114 CL , to have good bottom end TQ and so that the cam makes usable street power in the lower RPM range ( to bring down the power band).. Where the thunder cam is on a higher CL, I wonder how this will affect my power range and will my car be dead under 4,000 RPM and not start pulling to later on, I dont think this would be good on the street, but maybe with the Procharger blower it doesnt make a big diferance.
I was thinking of doing my own special grind and take a little from everywhere and everthing i know and heard>
A LS1 blower camshaft something like this 216-230 with 580 to 600 lift on a 116 LSA + 4 degrees (112cl)
still not sure on what Lobes.
Jay from absolute speed that ported my stage 1X 241 heads flowing 300cfm at .550-.600 lift , said to have a compcam built on a 214-224 585/565 lift on a 116 + 4 degrees with XE intake lobes and the more agressive XER exhaust lobes.
I know he knows his **** so thats why i trust what he recomended, and he recomended A 115-116 LSA for a stock like idle and the +3 or + 4 degrees (112-114CL) to keep a nice streetable power curve .
I know he said at the time that this 214-224 Blower cam would have good street manners , idel like stock and make good power, and the 112CL would bring down the power range , where the LS1 is kinda dead, but i dont remember what he said about upper RPM < I want to be able to take her up to 6,500 RPM without the cam running out of steam and falling on its face,
But i think because of the forced induction , from the blower that this would not happen.
let me know what you guys think
I briefly used the GT2-3 from Lingenfelter with my 346....should have stuck with it longer though.
Id idled totally smooth, and did feel good on the road. I only stuck with it for 3-4 days before going bigger. With hindsight, that was stupid, but sometimes these things just happen.
Quite a few have had good results with that cam.

my cam pulls hard from mid to up top. graph never goes down. we let off at 6700
you dont need a crazy cam with forced induction, only need something to help compliment the setup.
Hi gotmesom what cam are you using , what are the specs?
HI stevieturbo, so what cam did you end up with and how do you like it , why shouldnt you have changed from the G2-3 cam?
Hi Prostock John again, why dont you like the idea of 116 and up LSA's ?
Please let me know
And thank you for helping me out

.581/.588
has a nice chop, you know you got a cam in there. pulls and pulls and pulls. idles great, takes some tuning to get it right. but its perfect now.
if its a street car you want something with a lot of midrange.

i wonder if i went to .600 lift if that would have made a big difference.
