m6 and procharger I have a six speed and it just bit the dust but wanted to know what the guys that are running 650rwhp-750rwhp are doing for building them....I'm going with t56rebuilds.com and wanted to do the stage 3b plus the viper mainshaft upgrade...Is it necessary to go this far or would the 3b by itself be sufficient?? Thanks for input

That's what I'm going to but just wanted to see what the weak link is... I know the mainshaft is kinda weak but is that the point that will eventually break once everything else is upgraded???

I'm thinking so too....I always overbuild stuff because I really hate to do it twice but with Forced Induction it is SOOOO expensive and I have to spread my money out... Thanks for everyone's input.....

how did your trans 'bite the dust' what happened?
i have an entire trans minus input shaft and cluster gear that i'll sell to you... you probably have those good parts in your trans. this trans has the steel forks and viper shaft upgrade.
i broke the stock output shafts on both of my 6 speeds, and they both got upgraded. then i ran through the input shaft gear on this one.. but the one from the car is still good.
if you dont put a slick on the car the trans, even stock will last a long time over 600rw.

well I really never speed shifted or drove it that crazy...It was more of a degenerative thing that happened over a period of time... It has been needing a refresh for a while and have just wondered if it's truly worth it to upgrade to the Viper mainshaft but since I've thought about it I'm going to go ahead and do it...

Unless you plan on running a TON on slicks, and or speed shifting, your stock tranny should easily hold 750 RWHP.
Its when you are hooking up with that much HP that you are doing all the wear on your tranny. You can always do the viper upgrade and play it safe. I am just saying you don't have to, and you should be fine.
