Default Boost + nitrous, what should i know?

Im thining about adding up to a 100-150 shot ontop of my D1SC at full speed. Its a 370, diamond pistons, eagle rods/L19 bolts, stock crank, studded mains, studded heads. Havnt decided on heads but forted LQ9s seem to be where im heading. Havnt decided on cam either. Looking to be near 9.5:1 compression. Just wondering what all i should know when going this route. Ive heard spray can pull bigger numbers due to the cooling effect on the heated compressed air. And i know ill need a different tune for spraying. Is there some kinda timing retard box i can use to run a single tune? Or will i have to load a new tune when i want to spray? Im looking to run 93 octane pump gas, and probably methanol for high boost with 93.

Can you run methanol and nitrous together? Any up/downsides to spraying both? What should i know about nitrous in a boosted application? I havnt read much at all about a twin power adder system on a LS motor or any motor for that matter, so anything you people can tell me would be great!

i think your cylinder pressure is gonna be real high and will force the head to lift. And as far as cooling the charge with NOS, a 50 shot i would think plenty.

Chitown what?

yes you can run both, there was a guy on pinks in an lt1 car spraying nitrous and meth together. no problem holding heads down.

just gotta make sure your fuel system is up to it.

i plan on spraying my car.

150 shot on top of a maxxed out d1sc would be sick.

Look for "timing tuner" in the nitrous section. Yes, you can use meth & nitrous together, but how are you going to spray? Wet or dry? Direct port or single nozzle?

big diffrence in holding a head down between an lt1 and an ls1, allot of guys have issues with jsut a blower or a turbo.. so *I* would think that with a blower annnnd nitrous that it would be an issue.

From my understanding and talking to other people a 50 shot of nos on a blower car is like a 100 shot on a na car.I can only imagine what 150 shot would be like.

Do it, it works great !! Just don't get too greedy and definately use all the standard safety equipment (FPSS, window switch, WOT switch, etc).

I gained 47hp and 115tq with a 50 shot on top of 8.5psi. Once I'm real happy with my tuning I'll probably up it to a 75 shot.

Careful though - another car local to me recently popped his forged 383 bypassing his window switch on boost+150 shot...

I am doing mine right now. Going to start off with a 50 shot and work up to a MAX of 100 shot. It will have no more than 17 to 18 degrees for timing on this. Hoping to be at 720 rwhp and see what it runs on the 1320. My buddie sprayed the 150 shot on his T trim kit and we made 858 rwhp and 899 tq. Did not lift the heads but it was on the edge, No doubt about it.

Chitown, whats chitown?

As you can see im not trying to hard to hide my combo lol

Havent decided what kinda kit id use if i go this route, wet, direct port etc.. Still trying to get a handle on all of it. Im guessing i shouldnt even consider factory heads with this kinda pressure? I was thinking LQ9s or L92s if anyone ever got to test em and push em a little. Would you consider an aftermarket head with the 3/4" thick deck mandatory at this level?

An aftermarket head is gonna help allot with head lifting issues. I dont think you need the 3/4 studs. a set of out of the box darts would probibly get the job done.

hurry up and get that thing done already its almost summer time

I run a 50 shot on mine.I might up it.Theres a guy in my town that runs a 150 on top of all of his turbo cars that make some really good numbers. He says anything less than a 150 with boost you just cant evan feel.
