Default Update on the motor (pics)

This was the previous thread. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/632811-wondering-what-symptoms-come-lifting-heads.html
Well Im sure te driver side head gasket is shot, but I am curious to know about these cylinders. they all seem to have the vertical rub marks on the drivers side cylinders (i havent got to the pass side yet) I was wondering if this is normal? Is this cause of the cold start piston slap or is this a bigger problem? I tore down the old block When I had Busted ringlands and I dont remember those types of marks I just remember seeing cross hatches. Will I have to do a rebuild cause of this? The damb thing only has 1500 miles on it. Is it from water in the cylinder when the head was lifted?
Any help would be great let me know where I should go from here, It doesnt look like I will be just changing the head gaskets and going to studs huh.

When you rub the clyinders are the marks deep, can you feel them with your finger?

yes there is three small ones I can feel with my finger, not with my nail though if that matters. they are probably the thickness of a hair. That is just the one cylinder I am going to check the others.

well those gaskets should not have been used.. for sure. get the mls and try again. some stock replacement studs while you are at it. should be good.

oh and have a careful look at your tune before returning to WOT

I had those scuffs on 4 of my cylinders in my n/a engine. To this day I don't know what caused them.

Mine has been running with them for about 12k miles, but it has experienced some blowby, and I am pretty sure those scuffs will cost some power.

I think those are just machining marks ?

I fitted a set of CP pistons in a Subaru engine, and in photos you would swear blind they had some strange pattern on them. To the touch, they were totally smooth.

The bore marks could just be from a little dirt from an earlier build. Or a lack of oil on initial startup..

Worst case, its the piston picking up on the bore a little, if things had got a little hot in there ( either coolant temp or piston temp, more likely the latter )

Probably nothing to worry about though in itself.

So why do you think I should worried about the tune? I had it done the day before I went to the track. What do you think I should be looking for? detonation? This is the only thing I cannot do myself, I want to learn but I am affraid to make any kind of adjustment to this car for the fear I would just blow it up. The tuner said the a/f was ok right around 11.5 with 14 degrees of timing. I have hp tuners but it was like thier first version, will it still log the same even though I have a sd tune?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to learn.
