I am gonna make as much as I can on pump around 650 rwhp. Won't even be stressin the motor.

Yup. The concern has been raised here and there, but I've yet to be informed by a firsthand account of this event actually happening... I think heads would lift on an LS1 before the block's material becomes an issue, IMO.

This is my basic engine setup including rough prices

• Scoggin Dickey 402 $4000
o 6.0L iron LS1 short block
o Eagle 4” Forged Crank
o Callies 6.125” Forged H-beam Rods
o Forged Diamond -18cc pistons
o Cleavite Bearings
o ARP Main & Rod Bolts

• 6.0L 317 Heads $2000
o 2.02/1.60 valves
o porting & polishing
o Patriot Gold Dual Springs
o Comp Pro Magnum Rockers

I also used ARP head studs & Cometic gaskets. And it's working just fine so far.

Thats a nice set up Wahusker cant wait to see the track times. So far I wanna keep the stock block for the only purpose of saving some green but an Iron block sounds nice too just not sure what one, were to get it, or what to expect to pay....

ally block will take 1000bhp easy! W2W say their block can take upto 1250 bhp and they are ally!!!

put the right stuff in and get it tuned right and you will be fine. stevieturbo on here is running in the region of 900bhp and hasn't even dynoed the car! lol yet more evidence that even a street tune done right will give you the goods!

ALot haha the heads I got a good deal on and the engine i got a good deal on as well. I have just over 5 in my set up not including the d1sc and stuff that came off the 346. thats just the stuff listed above

I just picked up a 6.0 iron from a junk yard out of truck that caught fire.
Paid $250 for a block crank and mains.

I thought about using my 98 ls1 block but I had a piston that cracked and it was questionable if a hone would save it. The last thing I need is a block with thin sleeves and increased cylinder pressure from boost. If you do go ls1 I would go with newer block maybe ls6 or something.
