Which pulley first?
Quick rundown of setup:
383 Lt1
Stock ported heads (outflow AFR 195's
)Comp XFI 280 cam
Ported stock intake
Procharger D1-sc w/ twin intercoolers
Fuel system should handle 800fwhp as it sits, more with a bigger pump.
Now my dilemma, I really would like to have all the power I can right away. Even if it means running 100 octane unleaded. But Ive got more than a few people telling me I should not max out the blower YET...
So my choices are to go with a 3.4" pulley and get 54,867 impeller rpm out of the blower.. Or a custom 3.1 pulley and get 60,177 rpm. Both would be shifting at 6500 for now, and could easily twist the motor higher to go to maximum impeller speed.
What would you do? Be conservative at first, or go all out?
With a 7.65 and 3.40 @ 6500 the impeller speed would be 59962
With a 7.00 and 3.40 @ 6500 the impeller speed would be 54867 as mentioned above.
Anyway, Im cancelling the poll.. I called Reichard racing and they only had a 3.25 in stock. To custom machine one was gonna have me past my deadline by quite a bit.
I ordered the 3.25 and if its not enough, Ill get the 7.65 crank pulley and shift at 6400.
