although I own a rear-mount and the exhaust is incredibly loud (haven't boosted yet), I think the front mounts are more so beastly b/c looking at the car from the outside, you may never know it's a turbo. On the STS...duh, the turbo is sitting right there so there is no hiding it. There's nothing like racing a usual NA car when you don't know what they have done to it, only to be demolished and hearing the hissing of the turbo. A loss yes...but nonetheless, a great way to go down! I'm looking forward to that soon !!

[QUOTE=jamesSS]i would have to say procharger. i love that whine. here is a clip of each. F1 FTW!!

super charger.

http://videos.streetfire.net/hottest...bdfb121c15.htm

I would like to know more about this guys setup. Was he running an air filter on the inlet? The BOV sounds wicked too. The turbo being quiet at idle is nice if you want to lead the competition before smoking them. But the blower whine at idle is more intimiating at the starting line.

Listen guys, a blower is great like everyone said at idle... But imagine cruising down the strip of the local cruise spot and you end up next to what seems to be just your garden variety LS1. The usual nod is exchanged to imply the mutual exceptance of the impending race. You manage to take off on the third honk and pull about a car ahead...Then all of a sudden, the LS1 at your rear quarter panel lets out what can only be described as the sound of a 737 taking off next to you. At this point, you know that there is nothing you can do to hold your lead as the turbo spools and dumps boost into the motor!

There is nothing cooler than giving someone the though of winning and taking it away just as fast as the thought was conceived!

Turbo is where its at in my opinion. The video tells it all...(not an f-body, but still sick!)

A supercharger doesn't always lose to a turbo. Can you imagine the turbo owners suprise as the blown car leaves him in the dust.

i got mine hidden so good, people think its just my exhaust...... only a real LS1 guy or someone that knows what it is knows....... its funny.

after i blow off next to their door and continue to put bus lengths on them, then they notice thats its not N/A and they'll ask afterwards. its amazing

I have to say one of the best sounds cars ever IMO is DJ's99SS with that F1 procharger and big cubes, car sounds absolutely amazing, however in most other cases, turbo spool FTW!

IMO Turbos have a better sound Hands Down....although a Cobra blower does sound pretty sick also....However, a supercharger sounds like its "crying" and a turbocharger just sounds like its really ****** pissed off. Front Mount turbos sound better when they are WOT and you hear the wastegate going ape ****, but when your just cruising, i think the rear mounts sound sick with that spooling whistle. On my front mount with the T70, just cruising you cant hear it spooling or anything cause the exhaust is loud, but once your WOT its like a whole different ride. Not to mention the Wastegate is Loud as hell....Turbo cars just sound like they are Inhaling all the air you can give it, superchargers in realitly just sound like a Squeeky belt and pullies...IMO tho

If you are talking about the specific "sound" each makes, and based off of that "sound" which sounds more intimidating, I would say a Procharger F1. Turbo cars don't sound as loud, at least at idle as a big F1 unit does.

Now, on the other hand if you are talking about which sounds more intimidating, meaning which is more intimidating just knowing its on a car, then I would say the front mount Turbo, since its capable of more power generally speaking.

I have a procharger but, from what I have heard a turbo sounds very good. I do like the sound of my car though. Next build will be a twin turbo.
