Default Meth injected makes everything fast

I am recieving my LPE TT ZO6 tomorrow, on a truck from FL. It is going to kill me not to drive since not titled or having plates. One of the things I am looking at is putting meth/water injection on it to combat the crap gas we have here in CA. No where outside of a racetrack can you get anything higher then 91 premium. Do you run pure meth or mixed with water? I have heard of windshield washer fluid that has meth in it being run? The kit I am looking at sprays according the TPS. Just looking for peoples thoughts and tips on this.
Thanks,
Jeffy'

you could do an octane booster like torco or octanium, and most people i have seen run straight meth, i havent heard anything about windshield wiper fluid having meth in it, maybe you mean people usind the resevoirs to run meth in it

have fun with your beast and be sure to get some pics up

The best WW fluid is only 30-40% meth. Water is the best for controlling detonation, but meth is best for lowering IAT's. I use straight meth now (no, that isn't why I'm up at 2:30 am) , but that is because my intercooler keeps temps low enough that a water mix won't properly flash off. Experimenting will definitely be your friend, because there is a lot of power to be made with the right mix.

I run windshield washer fluid as I am at modest boost levels (~10psi), the other benefit is it keeps your combustion chamber CLEAN (low carbon buildup means more flow, just better all around). I tried pure meth but did not see any improvements (also because I run conservative timing). But from everything I have read, if you run high boost run pure meth. On a side note pure meth is more dangerous as the chance of an alcohol fire exists with meth, but not with windshield washer fluid. The research I did placed windshield washer fluid at about 40%-50% methanol.

If you are going to buy Meth do not goto a Racing Shop.
You can get 99.9% pure methanol from Home Depot, it is called Methyl Alcohol - same stuff, camping stove fuel is also Methanol, as well as "Wood Alcohol".
If you are in a bind you can also use HEET in the yellow bottle, it is pure methanol. On another side note if you buy HEET in the yellow bottle, stop, just goto Home Depot and get Methyl Alcohol.

Chris,
2 things 95% of everything is under the car or hidden behind body panels and LPE did not do the install. It was bought as a kit and installed in FL at a place call Progressive Race Motors. I will try and shoot a few shots this later this afternoon.

Get a Julio alky kit from ECS for a Vette and run 100% meth. Great safety feature. Reduces AIT's andd increase octane. You will have to retune for it.

I use about 80/20% meth/water mix with a Snow Boost Cooler. It is set up to come in @ 6lbs. PSI and go to full spray at 10PS THe max boost I get is 18 PSI. Meth water allows more timing cooler charge creates a higher octance rating; more boost for me equals about 25-30 more HP and about 40-50 more ft. lbs of torque.

This is a big debate that has been going on for a long time. It seems almost to be split down the middle of people running 100% meth, vs 50% meth, 50% water. IMO, both will work fine and give you no problems.

I personally will be running a 50/50 mix in mine as that is what Snow Performance, and my tuner reccomend. I wouldn't use the de-icer stuff unless you were in a pinch. I would just make the effort to put whatever mixture you want in it and go from there.

Snow Performance and Alky-control are probably the two best kits. Personally I like the Snow Performance kit better because it offers a safety feature that will bleed off boost in the event of the meth not being injected at the desired rate. That right there could save your motor entirely. Snow Performance is the only one that offers this. Just something to think about.

Good luck, and enjoy your stuff from LPE. I used to live only 45 minutes away from them when I lived in Indiana. I have bought lots of parts from them over the years.

Damn Jeff, that's a NICE looking Vette! You really gonna hunt crickets with that thing?

Anyway, I started out running 49/51 mix (meth/H2O). I now have turned to straight meth. I wasn't getting any detonation with the mix, but this makes a little more power. I have 4 gal of the Snow mix you can have if you choose to go that direction & want it.

And I run the Alky Control Kit that kicks in at 4lbs & progesses according to the boost.
