Default Turbo compressor surge causes MAF reading fluctuations?

Just wanted to share with you some interesting findings I saw while I was tuning my setup (see sig). All tuning was done on the highway, no dynos here. Iam currently running a MAF tune

When doing WOT at the minimum boost level (7 psi), I see from the logs that the MAF will obviously max out at 56.54 lb/min. However during the WOT run I see the MAF reading fluctuates between 56.5, 52.x & 49.x. I never felt any surging what so ever. As I increase the boost one point at a time (and modify the tuning a little), this issue seems to disappear. Once day I ran it at 10 psi & never saw the MAF reading like this, then immediately I put it back to 7 psi and started to see the MAF reading fluctuations again.

Iam currently running it at 12 psi and obviously I don't see this anymore as I see the MAF maxed out at 56.54 lb/min throughout the whole WOT run. Iam just wondering if what I saw during the lower boost runs was due to compressor surge from the big turbos and low boost
