Open Down Pipe?
Do any of you run an open down pipe?
I still have a factory K-member in my car and there is no way the 4" down pipe I am running off the PT88 is going over the factory K-member. So far I have fabbed up a 4" DP that exits right under the front of the K-member. I have no idea how loud it will end up being. We will see. The noise police are not that bad in Bowling Green. I have thought about just cutting the DP and necking it down to 3 inch to go over the K-member into a 3 inch bullet using a v-band clamp at the transistion. It would be easy to swap the open 4" DP for track use. That would also alow me to swap mt PT88 and TC76MPS around quickly.
Anyway, I just wanted some opinions.

Ive done close to the same on my street car. Just built a 4 downpipe with a coutout at the bottom. Then brached off the side of the 4 inch with 3'' and went back. This system kept a/c, 4 inch downpipe, and 3 inch quiet exhaust for the street.
This is where the setup is as of tonight when I left the shop.

I am gonna add in a 3" to 4" transistion on a V-band clamp to I can swap between the race style open 4" DP shown and a 3" catback style exhaust with a 3" in/out bullet. I dont mind the wrench time changing them out nd it will make it easier to swap between the PT88 and the TC76MPS.

I do not think my open dowpipe is incredibly loud, but the resonance it produces can get bad, especially if you do a lot of longer cruising with your car. I like my open DP when driving around town, but when I took it on a 2 hour interstate drive I hated it.
